Students asked not to eat smelly food in library to respect peers observing Ramadan

A whiteboard message at Oregon State University’s library asks students to try to avoid eating foods, especially smelly foods, in shared spaces to be considerate of those who are observing Ramadan.

The Muslim holy month this year runs from about May 15 to June 14. During this period, Muslims are obligated to fast from dawn until sunset. Presumably, the sign was made to encourage non-observers to not eat foods with strong smells because it would make Muslim students’ hunger worse, or that it might be disrespectful.

It is not unheard of for a university to work with Muslim students during this time.

During last year’s Ramadan, three University of Washington professors offered special exam times for those observing the tradition. The professors held their tests later at night to give the observers a chance to eat before taking their tests.

A little smear of Limburger inside the shade of the desk lamp was always fun. Back when we were allowed to have real light bulbs.

The Mooselimb religion is a Gutter Religion period!!!

Mohammad was one of the biggest Perverts that started this religion.

They are allowed to have polygamy and I will not even get into the marital arrangements since it is so perverted.

I will never give in to any rights for these perverted individuals. Heck we just had a POTUS who is a Mooselimb and an Imposter to top it off.

But, if it’s easy, where’s the virtue? Wouldn’t allah give bonus points for resisting the increased temptation?

Slices of onion, topped with tiny Brisling sardines, on soda crackers spread with Limburger: snack food of the gods!

During Pride Month, many of them do...in public.

How inclusive of them. I mean, I guess it doesn’t hurt to be considerate but should only be a suggestion not a demand. Sometimes I’m running late, or forget to grab something and go to work hungry but have to wait until break 3 hours to get something to eat. Meanwhile my coworker arrives and proceeds to dig in to her soup and sub right next to me. It’s tough, but I would never suggest that she refrain from eating simply because I wasn’t able to yet.

There was this chicken wing place at IU. Buffa Loui’s. It wafted across the entire dorm after you opened your delivery order. 1/2 the dorm would then order wings. Wonder if we could start a GoFundMe to get someone a franchise right outside the library entrance offering to go boxes for people studying at the library.

That’s what I thought. I would think no food or drinks would be allowed at all.

Doesn’t this fast only last during the day and at night they can pig out to their hearts’s content?

Libraries have already turned into daycare centers, but eating in them ?

Sure they have cafes now but you arent supposed to eat/drink IN the actual library.

Pantywaste politicians caving to muslims ... what a surprise

Food in a library? Up for debate. But definitely no protest rallies allowed:

How about a big bowl of menudo with sides of bacon and freshly popped popcorn then? For dessert, a rack of four slices of cinnamon toast.

That’s this year. Next year, it’s “don’t eat anything near muzzies.” The year after, it’s “don’t eat during ramadamadindong.” The year after, it’s “you’re turned over to the sharia court for eating during ramadamadindong.”

Not school related, but we once had a lunch meeting in the conference room at work. I suggested we get burgers from a place called Bray’s.

Their sign was a life sized donkey on the roof if that tells you anything.

Greasy burgers cooked in onions and wrapped in wax paper, along with fries and onion rings.

I don’t think the conference room was even used for three days after that meeting.

And yes, the food choice was mine.
