GreatGrampa always used to send Grandma down to the neighborhood tavern, daily, with a small bucket to bring him the evening’s beer.
Maybe that tradition will return.

You all realize the amount of aluminum per can is minuscule. Probably a penny a can.

Will. Not could.
It will cascade to a bunch of industries. We are seeing it in new capital equipment.
The good news is I might not have to test every blasted piece of steel now.
I support the tariffs, but we need to be honest that this will cause price increases to consumers.

Funny thing.
Most bottles are made in North America.
Now you might see a price increase in bottles too, but that is because a container plant in Oklahoma blew up.

My business relies on manufactured aluminum products. Our chief supplier hit us with a 9% price increase last month.
My wife and I haven’t raised our street prices in many years, but now we have no choice.
In the long run, though, I think this will be a good thing for US industries.

A 9% rise in the cost of a raw material doesn’t equate to a 9% cost in the retail price of a finished good. We are not economically stupid out here.

Go to Bottle Beer. It taste better anyway!
To: wally_bert
According to beer experts cans are better than glass. Less light and less air in the can means less deterioration of the beer’s taste. That’s what they say.

Raw bulk aluminum is dirt cheap. Even after a tariff it is still dirt cheap. This is all globalist BS gas lighting. Don’t fall for it.

A 9% rise in the cost of a raw material doesnt equate to a 9% cost in the retail price of a finished good. I didn't say it did.
I said that I'll finally have to raise my street price to compensate for my increased material costs. Our total price increase will probably be about 2%.
I'm only squirming over it because my industry is so cutthroat competitive.
