Investigators also allege Chappele wore multiple fentanyl patches that were cut in half and that the residue from the patches transferred to the baby.

I'm guessing "caring for the infant" means breastfeeding. Doesn't sound like it was deliberate, just stupid. But then junkies aren't known for sound judgement.

Usually folks cut them to chew them or heat them with water and fire the dope up or heat hem with hair dryer for quicker absorption

to help prevent others from making the same damnable mistake.

If they have any conscience at all and their mug shots give an indication they do,
they will be under a living internal prison sentence for the rest of their lives.
