Why don't they just pass a low preventing people from throwing plastic into the ocean?

No more plastic straws. Use one and go to jail. But if a “migrant” rapes you, tough $hit, sucker!

It will never stop marine litter ,it’s not the West doing it
To: Olog-hai
Yea, that’s all good except.... About 90% of the plastic going into the ocean comes from China and SE Asia.
Good luck, Euros.

Europe has a migrant crisis. Violence is on the rise. Separatist movements are gaining traction. And most EU nations are deeply in debt.
So the EU decides to spend its time trying to ban balloon sticks. Just wow.
P.S. My sources tell me the man holding the balloon in the above picture has just been arrested. I guess the EU is serious about this.

Americans alone dispose of nearly 500 Million plastic straws.... Per DAY!
It’s mind boggling.
The backlash is now in full swing. McD’s is considering switching to paper straws. ( which, suck!...and not in a good way)

A few weeks ago I saw a report here that 8 of the 10 worse sources for plastic pollution were Asian rivers. So the EU makes rules for itself.

If they could get around to banning rapes, pedophile gangs, acid throwers, knife wielding assailants, and truck bombs....that would be great.
To: Olog-hai
Instead of banning such products, how about a ban on cities dumping their garbage in the ocean.

Alternatives?
Those alternatives must be ‘sustainable’. {’sustainable’/’sustainability’ — their new hot-button trigger word.}
Does that mean a return to — PAPER??????
Or is everyone going to have to carry around a collection of metal instruments — stirrers, sporks, etc.?
==
If Libs had more than cursory intelligence, they could have foreseen the unintended consequences a few decades ago when they were decrying the use of paper products.
For every Lib solution, there are multitudes of resulting new problems.
