“Subtropical?” I guess that’s more scarier than Tropical Depression.

I thought names weren’t assigned until they were tropical storms? Are the weather mavens worried about not being able to breathlessly report on a named storm every day?

Local weather here in Hotlanta says we will have rain Tuesday and Wednesday with brief spin up tornados. That said they’ve been calling for a wash out every day for the last 2 weeks and I’ve had rain for 3 of those days.

I live in Clearwater and my phone is sending me high wind/flood/tropical storm warnings approximately ever 37 seconds. I think we’ve gotten about an inch of rain in the past 36 hours and no wind to speak of.

Two weeks ago I was in the ring of fire and experienced a nice, mild 4.4 earthquake. I had to come back home and got here just in time to batten things down for Alberto. From earthquakes to hurricanes, life is exciting.

Good news for the MS Gulf Coast - we’re now down to a chance at a third of an inch of rain from the storm - they declared a state of emergency for an event that will have a tenth the effects of the average thunderstorm....

Rick Scott Verified account @FLGovScott 37s38 seconds ago Updated information from the @NWSNHC issued tonight suggests that Subtropical Storm Alberto is growing stronger and more dangerous. I urge every Floridian to take this storm seriously and pay attention to local officials and evacuation orders. https://bit.ly/2GQg151
