The hunt is on.
James Mangold is writing and will direct a Star Wars stand-alone movie centered on Boba Fett, the feared bounty hunter and fan-favorite character, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned.
The reveal comes as Disney and Disney-owned Lucasfilm prepare for the release of the latest Star Wars stand-alone film, Solo: A Star Wars Story. Solo, which opens Friday, is the second movie to be spun from the main Star Wars line — Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was the first — but it is the first to focus on a particular character.
Lucasfilm is developing movies on a slew of characters including Obi-Wan Kenobi, which has Stephen Daldry in negotiations to direct, although no writers are working on a script.
It was rumored that Simon Kinberg, the writer-producer behind the X-Men franchise and films such as The Martian, was working on a Boba Fett movie. While Lucasfilm and Disney won’t make any official confirmation, sources say that Mangold will co-write the script with Kinberg, who will also produce the Boba Fett project. Kinberg and Mangold are close, having worked on Logan, the X-Men spinoff that earned high praise last year.

Realize I’m in the minority here, but I saw Solo today and enjoyed it.
Not a great film, and there was an unnecessary SJW droid that distracted from the story, but it was a fun movie overall.
Much better than Force Awakens or Last Jedi.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they made this.

That is very sad they had to reuse him in one of the Disney movies. Really, the Disney Star Wars films are just as bad as they come. If back in 1978 someone told me that they would make several Star Wars movies, but they would get worse and worse with time, I would never have believed them. “Lucas would never allow it!,” I would have said.
Little did I know. It was Lucas who first killed the franchise. Now Disney is dismembering it. Soon to see it cremated.
And now people maybe can understand why Paul McCartney was so adamant that the Beatles end. Didn’t want to screw up what had been done under that moniker.
I guess it’s only a matter of time till we get the definitive movie on Jabba the Hutt. That will the movie to see, Jar Jar Binks was probably his nephew.
Solo is not tanking at the box office.
I stopped watching James Bond movies on first release before A View To A Kill was released.
Later saw it and the others on home video but not all of the movies. I think I saw The Living Daylights in the theater.
People accept that the Planet of the Apes films are of inconsistent/declining quality and that was only 5 movies (not including the tv show or reboots).
It is tough when you are open to seeing more films in a franchise but they just don’t pan out. Consider The Godfather III which is supposed to be a mess.

Having viewed this monstrosity, I guess the viewing audience around the world isn't interested in Pervert Pansexual Lando who has been banging his robot and is aroused by, and will have sex with anything and everything; a totally obnoxious feminazi robot who built itself without the help of "men" and is totally obsessed with SJW "robot rights"; an emasculated, ersatz Han Solo who is weak, outsmarted by everyone, beaten up by a 16 year old girl and totally intimidated by Pando's obnoxious SJW sex droid.
All in all, such a "family friendly film"... NOT!
I don't blame the principal actors, although Erinreich is miscast as Han. The blame for this dumpster fire rests solely on the shoulders of SJW feminazi Kathleen Kennedy, Hildago, Kasdan's perverted son, the writers and staff that habitually denigrate the Star Wars fan base and refuse to listen to their valid concerns and criticisms, and the head of Disney.
SJW, racist Kathleen Kennedy, along with all of the senior staff, writers, and ""expert consultants should be FIRED IMMEDIATELY!
Better yet: "I say we nuke the site from orbit, its the only way to make sure" ...this star wars fiasco never happens again.
Godfather III was a joke. It came off like a college movie made by brand new amateurs.
