The customer, whose name is Pedro, received a drink labeled beaner a racial slur for Mexicans when he visited a location Tuesday in La Cañada, news station KTLA reported.

The coffee chain responded in a tweet saying that the incident was not the welcoming experience we aim to provide.

Man yer asking for a law suit! LOL
Im thinking the beaner is the one who wrote beaner on the cup. He should have spilled it on himself and gone for the big payday.
From the grocery store, OBVIOUSLY!!!
Vote for Pedro.
Suspect this is a hoax. Who would be dumb enough to do this?
When I was in high school in Arizona 50 years ago, there were two guys who ran in my circle of friends whose nicknames were "Beaner". We all played on the football team together.
One kid was Mexican (notice I didn't say "hispanic" because he was Mexican, not the current PC version hispanic) and faster than the wind as our halfback. He went by Beaner. His choice. That's what he introduced himself as and what everybody called him. No "racial slur" was intended or taken. I still greet him as Beaner at our reunions and have been life-long friends.
The other kid was a big old farm boy who played tackle on the team. He was white. But after letting out a loud smelly fart in the huddle during one of our games, we referred to him as Beaner from then on because he said he had beans for lunch and that's why he farted. We all laughed and he readily accepted his new nom de plume without complaint. He's since passed away but we still refer to our dearly departed buddy as Beaner.
And you don't even want to know what my nickname was but it was a lot worse than Beaner. Rhymed with a term for female private parts. Embarrassing as heck when I was called it in front of the girls but taken in stride amongst my guy friends.
It was how my group of athlete friends interacted with each other. We were all buddies and had a good time ribbing, or as we said back then "pimping", each other.
Fast-forward to today's PC culture and what's wrong with the country today is that no one has a sense of humor and thinks everything they read or hear is racist or a phobia of some kind that they take offense to.
Life was better back then.
Probably wrote it on the cup himself.
I’m guessing extortion.
Thr CEO needs to give out the kneepads for his employees so they can kneel down and kiss the asses of whatever the “aggrieved, oppressed, offended, butt-hurt party” du jour is when they come through the door.
Karma’s a bitch.
“Perhaps the barista was referring to the coffee beaners?”
Starting to wonder if they mean something derogatory when they bring me a pack of ‘crackers’?
You might receive a niggardly portion. Then look out.

Musn’t forget ANOTHER character no one would dream of using in todays world...
Spearchucker from MASH.....
They ‘finally’ got a Black guy on MASH etc etc etc..
‘Speaking of MASH’, Col Flagg would fit right in with todays FBI....
Of course, A Bunker and ‘Blazing Saddles’ would be mere figments of the imagination...
I am shocked, was expecting maybe it was a latte for Gringo or a macchiato for Honky.
The bean farting scene around the campfire in Mel Brooks’ Blazing Saddles is one of the funniest scenes ever filmed.
You must be a guy.
That was my first thought, too. But I was wrong. Either he called himself that or he was misunderstood, because the word is _printed_ on the label. Turns out his name is Peter and there was a miscommunication.
Are one of those liberal sexists?
I'm not admitting to anything.
You can do that nowadays you know.
Identify as whatever gender you want.
Sho' nuff!
It’s just that I’ve never met a female who thought the Blazing Saddles, around-the-campfire fart symphony was funny. Every guy has thought it hilarious. :)
