SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- U.S. prosecutors filed a criminal charge Wednesday against the CEO of Bumble Bee Foods as part of an ongoing investigation into price fixing in the packaged seafood industry.
A grand jury in San Francisco indicted Christopher Lischewski on one count of price fixing, alleging that from November 2010 to December 2013 he conspired with others in the industry to eliminate competition by setting prices for canned tuna.
Three other people, including a former StarKist tuna company executive, have previously been charged. Stephen Hodge, a former senior vice president for sales at StarKist, pleaded guilty last year to price-fixing

I note that there is a big spread in price and quality among the various brands and types of canned tuna.
“White” is a big difference than “light”.
Some of it is just plain nasty.
I used to stockpile canned tuna as part of my survivalist preps, and at one point had many cans of several different types.
My takeaway: if you give cats tuna packed in oil, it gives them diarrhea.
If you give it to dogs, it makes them happy.
Hubby likes tuna. I buy it a lot. It’s cheap. I made tuna taquitos last night. lol
Macaroni salad in the summer...Tuna casserole in the winter...cheap and good for you comfort food.
