without military support, Maduro’s dictatorship will crumble. i’ve been predicting that the only way Maduro would topple is when there’s finally a revolt, military coup, and/or civil war within the military once Maduro was no longer able to feed his military and their families.
Now it looks like another option has to be added to the above, namely Maduro’s military simply fades away into the night, the same way his oil workers and refinery workers have faded away.
The Venezuelan people have no weapons other than passive-aggression, and their passive-aggressive revolt has definitely been taking its toll in their oil industry, the only industry that was still bringing in hard currency.
Looks like the military is cleverly eschewing an armed revolt and instead following the non-violent strategies of their civilian counterparts.
As I recall, this passive-aggressive revolt is exactly what was predicted by Ann Rand in “Atlas Shrugged”, and it’s fascinating to me to see that particular prediction actually happening for real ...
