Have a relative w/osteoporosis. In her case, the vertebrae also are wedged and immobile by now (82), causing an extreme kyphosis and a forward bend. She had a failed back surgery about 20 years ago to correct the kyphosis...I wonder if the brace is an attempt to keep H’s back straight? won’t work, but perhaps she’s willing to try anything.

The extreme forward posture means lungs can’t inflate all the way. Restrictive Pulmonary Disorder. That also puts strain on the heart. Requires 24/7 external oxygen and a CPAP at night. Vibration vest and nebulizer in between.

There has been speculation she has a parkinsonian sort of disease. Not that it couldn’t be all of the above.
