...compression fractures, ...
____________
Have a relative w/osteoporosis. In her case, the vertebrae also are wedged and immobile by now (82), causing an extreme kyphosis and a forward bend. She had a failed back surgery about 20 years ago to correct the kyphosis...I wonder if the brace is an attempt to keep H’s back straight? won’t work, but perhaps she’s willing to try anything.
The extreme forward posture means lungs can’t inflate all the way. Restrictive Pulmonary Disorder. That also puts strain on the heart. Requires 24/7 external oxygen and a CPAP at night. Vibration vest and nebulizer in between.
Lousy disease.
She wouldn’t have to worry about it if she had been doing her yoga like she said. Someone posted a parkinsons brace - that looked plausible too. There has been speculation she has a parkinsonian sort of disease. Not that it couldn’t be all of the above. It would be cruel if they were making her do all this (her handlers) rather than her orchestrating everything.
Wow, when I first read that I (who have osteoporosis rather bad) was like "oh crap, that's what's gonna happen to me. Be all hunched over like Hillary, scaring little kids, living on machines....scary. And then I said, with the black humor most can't take, "Oh,hell no! This breast cancer will get me while I still look good!! Thank you Baby Jesus!" So, thanks for the laugh! I'm sorry for your relative, she must be a strong woman.
