FULL TITLE: University of Florida is forced to apologize after black and minority graduates were SHOVED off stage by a white faculty member while they celebrated
The University of Florida is facing allegations of racism after a faculty member forcibly yanked several minority students off the stage during their graduation ceremony.
Shocking video shows the graduates walk across the stage to receive their diplomas as their names are called.
But when some students take a moment to do a celebratory dance, a white male in regalia aggressively grabs them to move them along.
The videos has sparked outrage by alumni, parents and current students who claim the staff member was only physical with black and other minority students.
The incident forced the University of Florida president to issue an apology for the 'inappropriately aggressive' behavior.

You will never finish the graduation ceremony of every chucklehead does their own touchdown dance.
Go to the link and read “Traylo’s” Tweet. Her grammar is atrocious (even for tweets) and she is graduate of this University.
"You're dancing in my line? No diploma for you! Come back, one year!"
The dignity is long gone. Last year at my granddaughter’s commencement ceremony, the district superintendent asked the families to save their applause until all the diplomas had been handed out. He reminded the audience that just as they want to hear their grad’s name called out loud and clear, so do the families of the graduates who follow them.
Few people listened to him, most ignored him. He had to wait until the whooping and hollering settled down before calling the next name, lengthening the ceremony by at least 30 minutes. I get to experience this again when her brother graduates in two weeks.
Dignity and solemnity still exist for funerals, but I wonder how long that will last. I saw some wedding photos recently. While the wedding party ha spent a fortune on fancy gowns, the guests were dressed for a picnic. Sad.
I guess if I am going to be critical of someone else's grammar, I should proof before I post!
You forgot about Ethnic and Gender Studies or Social Justice. Went to a graduation last summer and there were more than a few getting degrees in these "disciplines".
Yeah it looked exactly like a TD celebration dance.
Or, a pelican could interrupt the ceremony, as it did in Malibu, CA the other week.
No showboating rules disproportionately effect blacks and are therefore rasis.
Warn the graduating students up front. If you do anything but walk briskly across the stage, you will be fined and your transcripts held until the fine is paid off. Note the names of any that fail to follow instructions and flag their transcripts as “Do not mail” until the fine has been paid.
At every college graduation I’ve ever been to, the instruction is given at the beginning of the ceremony - no celebrating during the ceremony, families please refrain from excess celebrating. At every one, it’s the black families that hoot and holler and carry on for their children, often ruining graduation for the next child’s family.
It was completely inappropriate. The man should have grabbed them by the scruff of their necks and defenestrated them.
yup! time for everyone to celebrate is AFTER all names are called and receive their diplomas - cap toss time etc. Well that was back inthe time where students followed what teachers and those in authority told them regarding ceremonies or plays and performances the class did.
Yeah, urban America and Lefties don't do those.
Just as bad are the parents who get up to leave AFTER their son or daughter get their diplomas. These rude butt-wipes then get in the way of other parents wishing to see their son or daughter graduate. I blame the schools themselves for such behavior because they could control it if they really cared.
They can’t follow protocol and act like they’re at the after-party. No sense of decorum whatsoever. Too bad the official will probably get in trouble for this. If everybody does an end zone dance, the graduation will never end.
Celebration dances are undignified. The students were probably told in advance NOT to do them. Thats why the faculty member is moving them along.
In my experience, it is ONLY the members of the [ahem] other race that do this. That explains that this had nothing to do with discrimination and everything to do with decorum.
Ive seen this it the high school level, disgustingly so. My niece attended a high school which had students bused in. This is for a high school diploma, mind you, but whenever a students name was called out (those of the other race), not only did the idiot do an end zone dance but his 25 mamas and aunts stood on their chairs, wiggling their fat asses, doing the same. Youd have thought their hoodlum had won the Nobel Prize. Disgusting.
When I graduated they held the commencement in the basketball coliseum also, then dismissed us and all students went to their school of study to receive diplomas. I chose to not travel halfway across campus to go through a line and just got mine by mail.
When my daughter discovered that she could scalp the guest tickets for her graduation for $30 each, she decided to just get her diploma in the mail. Ever the entrepreneur, she is now 32 and a millionaire.
