FULL TITLE: University of Florida is forced to apologize after black and minority graduates were SHOVED off stage by a white faculty member while they celebrated
The University of Florida is facing allegations of racism after a faculty member forcibly yanked several minority students off the stage during their graduation ceremony.
Shocking video shows the graduates walk across the stage to receive their diplomas as their names are called.
But when some students take a moment to do a celebratory dance, a white male in regalia aggressively grabs them to move them along.
The videos has sparked outrage by alumni, parents and current students who claim the staff member was only physical with black and other minority students.
The incident forced the University of Florida president to issue an apology for the 'inappropriately aggressive' behavior.

They are like school in summertime--NO CLASS
Would anyone white or black, be chastised for a celebration dance? If so this is not the latest example of institutional racism. Some people are just looking for something to he offended about.
I wouldn’t bother going to these graduation ceremonies. Just have the university mail may diploma to me, while I start looking for work.
DSD there is a time and place to celebrate. Usually the graduation walk was serious and one did not “act out” or “carry on” or am I just getting old?
like an end zone TD dance?
The end zone is well off-stage. Spike the ball and do your never-been-here-before graduation dances there.
Didn’t you get the memo after the Starbucks incident in Philadelphia? If your skin is the right shade, then you are special. Ordinary rules which apply to ordinary people don’t apply to special people. The faculty member involved with obstructing the special celebration by special people deserves to be fired even if tenured.
No dancing in line!
who wouldnt be excited with a diploma in Social Justice and a minor in “I hate Whitey”?
When everyone does a jig, it just turns a two-hour ceremony into a three hour circus replete with clown suits.
Congratulations! You made it! Best wishes to you, miss/young man! (Now please move along so I may honor your peers.)
That's exactly what I did many years ago.
Yep.
NO SPIKING THE BALL !
Depends on whether its true or not.
Stupid idiot kids. Ruining everything for everyone.
It is called CLASS, MATURITY, CIVILIZED BEHAVIOR....
Supposedly acquired during the student’s four or more years at the college.
“When I graduated from college, both times, it was expected that you’d walk across the state, take your diploma...”
Man, they were TOUGH where you went to school. Most places, you can drive to the ceremony.
When I graduated from the University of Florida in the mid 90s, the graduation ceremony was held in the basketball arena. Needless to say, there were a very large number of us given UF has 50,000 students. If everybody insists on doing a dance on stage it is going to take forever to get through all the names. Maybe grabbing them was inappropriate but it was totally reasonable to hustle them along. If you want to dance, do it offstage where you won’t slow everybody else down.
Shucking and jiving is frowned upon?
