LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Louisville Metro Police Department officials on Wednesday released dramatic body-camera video from three officers involved in a shootout with a robbery suspect who later died from his injuries.
Demonjhea Jordan, 21, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, died from gunshot wounds at University of Louisville Hospital after he was shot in the 500 block of 29th Street on Tuesday, Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Wayne Pryse said.
One officer in pursuit of Jordan fired multiple shots from inside his cruiser, through the windshield, before he got out of the car. After Jordan went down, another officer went down to the ground, surrounded by colleagues, wondering if he'd been hit. But Aaron Crowell, who leads LMPD's Public Integrity Unity, said none of the officers had been shot.
"Officers are trained to deal with threats with whatever tools they have," Crowell said.
LMPD Chief Steve Conrad said the confrontation with officers started around noon Tuesday after a robbery was reported at the Metro PCS store at 2600 W. Market Stree
Officers who responded put out a description of the suspect. Conrad said 1st Division officers spotted Jordan, who matched that description, walking in the 500 block of N. 29th Street, about a block from their station.
Jordan was wounded during an exchange of gunfire with the officers and died later Tuesday afternoon at the hospital.

.....my preliminary thought is that all bets were off once the perp fired at the officer...............
Because we ran out of ammo.
Did you see this?
Dijon as in dijon mustard or ‘wheres dijon’? ‘Down the hall and to the left’.
Good one :)
Hey Mom,
WHY SO MUCH CRIME?
“The Clark County (IN) Sheriff’s Office shared Jordan’s arrest history, which includes a 2017 arrest on charges of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and carrying a handgun without a license. Three weeks ago, Jordan’s lawyer pleaded guilty on his client’s behalf, and Jordan was sentenced to one year of probation.”
The morons who gave and got him probation should be proud of themselves. If he’d been in jail, he’d still be alive. (or at least not killed by cops returning fire).
‘Why so many gunshots?’
Because we ran out of bullets ...”
From what I can see Cop 2 emptied 15 + 1 and loaded Mag #2 and unloaded 3 more from it. Looks like He held very steady aim the whole time.
Because you raised a piece of garbage for a child, and he received his just ending.
They be huntin bros likit be legal!
Oh geez! Looking at the video of officer number 3, there ain’t no possible way he could have fired more shots at the perp!
Can I post it? Three times a charm.
“When 14-year-olds name their sons — tonight on FOX!”
The video makes it look like very long shots for a pistol, I suspect it was closer in real life. I dont think shooting through a windshield was a good idea, but I wasnt there.
Shooting at police is a really bad idea, and he deserves what he got.
Shooting at police is definitely a bad idea.
Did his mother think it would help him get a job? Or she just couldnt spell?
Looks like he had to choose self employment which didnt work out well.

Because that’s all the bullets they had?
This city is a racial powderkeg. This is the week before Derby. This has the potential to really blow up.
BLM is already here.

Goofy-azz parent(s) couldn’t come up with something better than that.
Not surprising the kid turned out the way he did.
