There are lots of video interviews with North Korean defectors on YouTube. I’ve seen people testifying to being forced, as children, to view public executions; and others where people said they had never had more than a handful - a few bites - of Meat in their lives. This is harrowing to watch and to read in subtitles that are pretty graphic; but it’s worth the effort:

It is fascinating watching nice normal people experience something completely and totally new and foreign to their normal experiences. It is even more fun when that is a positive experience. It is very enlightening.

And yes, all the ladies were indeed quite cute. I guess that is why they were invited to do the video. Attractive people tend to get requested more than unattractive people. Just the way of the world.
