Hillary Clinton launched into a f***-laced fusillade during a practice session for her televised debate with Donald Trump in the run-up to the 2016 election, according to a journalist who followed her 2016 presidential bid.
In her new book, Chasing Hillary, New York Times journalist Amy Chozick, who covered Clintons political career for a decade, sheds light on the inner workings of a campaign which ended in shocking defeat.
In one passage, she describes a practice debate in which Clinton reportedly cried You want authentic, here it is!, followed by a f***-laced fusillade about what a disgusting human being Trump was and how he didnt deserve to even be in the arena.
Trump was played in the mock debates by longtime Clinton aide Philippe Reines, the New York Times reported at the time. Reines was chosen for the part due to his familiarity with Clintons personal and political vulnerabilities, enabling him to throw any number of embarrassing comments in her face as he imitated her outspoken Republican rival.
Chozicks memoir of ten years on the campaign trail also offers other insights into Clintons struggle to deal with Trumps unorthodox approach. His bombastic style and disdain for policy detail threw Clinton off-message, she writes: Trump had made her as devoid of substance as he was.

Funny. Before he ran, I never paid much attention to Trump, even though I met him once. Je seemed like a nice, decent person. Since he started his campaign, all Ive heard, even from his supporters, is that he is coarse, crude, boisterous and bombastic....My brother is a LEO and has escorted Trump several times. He says hes courteous, takes time to say hello and shake hands with the escorting officers and poses for photos.
Hes also escorted The O and Moo-chelle who he says were haugty, disdainful, and remote.

which ended in shocking obvious defeat.
There was NOTHING shocking about Hillary's defeat, the writing was on the wall from the get go she had no chance of winning.... Only ones shocked were the folks who refused to take their blinders off.

PS - did the wonderboy Obama ever mention ANY policy detail during a campaign or in office? He was the poster boy for anodyne platitudes and generalities.
Well, in fairness, Obama had something else on his side...his skin color!
Do you know how many people I have spoken with who HONESTLY stated that they voted for Obama "because it was time we had a black President". Like the Presidency is some figure head position to be willed to one person or another for ANYTHING other than policy and positions?!? That was my biggest fear with Killary's nomination, is that those same "it's time" people would vote for this witch for President. I think the biggest thing that killed Killary, other than her charming personality, was the fact that she and the DNC thought "identity politics" had reached critical mass and THAT was all that was needed to keep winning the Presidency, for the Democrats! Her laziness and her past were just too much for a good portion of America. And then you add in Trump's constant, ACCURATE attacks on the media and the Democrat portrayal of America as a hate-filled, anti-immigrant, bigoted nation really pushed her own base away.
I was a regular voter from 1986-2008...to be honest, I lost a lot of interest in our political system after hearing so much of this drivel and disdain for our electoral system. The stupidity in America, concerning our liberties, rights and civic duty is simply demoralizing!
I was not and am not a never-Trumper, although I was more of a Cruz fan. But, once Trump won the nomination and I really listened to what he was stating; I became a supporter.

Another FReeper posted James Woods' quote the other day...
You (Hillary) couldnt beat 1.) a dope-smoking block party organizer, 2.) a dandruff ridden old Commie from Vermont, or 3.) a reality TV host. Its not they who stopped you, Honey Bunny, its YOU!
Made my day. Thought it was worth mentioning again.

[Trump's] bombastic style and disdain for policy detail threw Clinton off-message.Excuse #23,791.
To: relictele
The ultimate POTUS with “an eye for detail” was Carter. Worked real well for him.
Give me a big picture strong leader with the ability to motivate people any day over a derail policy wonk.
The press had no problem whatsoever with the most banal and utterly simpleton POTUS Obama.

This monster came damn close to winning. We cannot take our foot off the pedal for a Split Second.

See my post at #50.
My biggest fear with Killary’s nomination was the “it’s time we had a woman President” crowd showing up in the same numbers as the “it’s time we had a black President” crowd!!

There was that one bit about closing down Guantanamo Bay prison. But of course that was a lie, so basically you’re correct.

Sounds like he did a decent job, and she dismissed the whole thing. Ergo, she did poorly in the debates.

You made a one letter mistake in your quotation, but an extremely important error. You added an "s" which made "he" into "she." Correct quote from article is:
Trump had made her as devoid of substance as he was."
To: simpson96
I think that Hillary is going Renfield, to the point that shell soon be eating flies.
