BARCELONA, Spain Roger Waters, former frontman for Pink Floyd, denounced the White Helmets during a concert last Friday in Barcelona.
He called the group who pose as a civilian rescue group as a fake organization that prompted propaganda for jihadists and terrorists.
The former Pink Floyd frontman claimed that listening to propaganda of the White Helmets and others we would be encouraged to encourage our governments to go and start dropping bombs on people in Syria.
What spouted the political driven comments was someone wanting to go on stage to talk about the alleged chemical attack in Syrias Douma.
He is one voice, I personally think he is entirely wrong, I believe the organization that he purports to represent and who he supports, the White Helmets, are a fake organization that is creating propaganda for jihadists and terrorists, thats what I believe, Waters said.
The words by Waters were received to loud cheers by the audience demonstrating that the Spanish and Catalonian public are no easily susceptible to obvious propaganda unlike many people in other parts of Western Europe.
Waters is a loony tune but sometimes he's right.
Waters is a loony tune but sometimes he’s right.
Yep.
“Mother should I trust the government?”

The ‘White Helmets’ is not the same as our ‘White Hats’.
I’ve heard from reputable reporters on the ground that the ‘White Helmets’ are indeed like wolves in sheep’s clothing.
So this fellow may indeed be correct.
‘ADL sadly concludes that Roger Waters is an anti-Semite
After musician’s comparison of Israeli policies with those of the Nazis, Abe Foxman, who had reviously defended British rocker from critics, calls him ‘narrow-minded bigot’’

He sometimes gets the broad strokes correct, then goes off on his magical mystery tour tangents.
What he says makes sense. Every time there's no other evidence, it seems that the White Helmets are there to blame the Assad regime and to produce photo ops of victimized mothers and babies.
Waters is a nut, but he is right this time.

"spouted"
"prompted", perhaps?
Do any of today's "journalists" know how to use the English language?
Well, he is a loony tune.
Why sadly?
If Roger Waters is not an actual anti-Semite, he would certainly make a good stand-in for one.
I detest Roger Waters. I went to see a concert with him around 2004, and I was angered and appalled by the way that I was subjected to hours of his political pap when I went there to listen to music. Stuff about the poor, oppressed Palestinians, America the Oppressor, and so on.
I know. I should have known, but I didn’t follow him at all after Pink Floyd, I just knew he had been in Pink Floyd, whose music I liked.
I went with about 10 people, and I was so spitting mad that I would have left, but didn’t want to ruin it for the others who I was with.
It was the concert he got sued for when he released a giant inflatable pig with wings (40 ft high?) that had “F**k Bush” on one side and “Vote Democrat” on the other. Apparently, IIRC, it caused some hazard to air traffic.

White helmets are a front for Al-Nusra and quite effective.
Celebrities and even some governments fund them and it gets funneled for other activities.
‘Why sadly?’
Good question.
A broken clock is right more often than a slow clock.
Abe Foxman: anti-gun slimeball
I don’t care what he thinks about anything else, when he would have people deprived of God-given Constitutional rights
I think what you mean to say is that BOB GELDOF makes a good stand-in for an anti-semite.
(In case anyone isn’t very familiar with The Wall, this is in NO WAY intended to suggest that Bob Geldof is at all anti-semitic.)
Very interesting post! I would not have realized that Waters used so much concert time for propaganda. It’s pretty remarkable that you held up so well.
Waters’ antisemitic stereotypes can be seen all the way back to Have a Cigar. I gather he somehow holds the Jews responsible for his father’s death, which happened in WWII. A friend who is a big Pink Floyd fan tells me that Waters is finally starting to mellow. That’s secondhand info so take with a grain of salt.
Some of his stuff from mid to late 70s is crazy, innovative and creative, and out-there on artistic levels. I’ll separate my appreciation for the work from the man.
What’s he done in four decades though?
What would he ever have done without Sid Barrett
