A new attack ad against DeSantis has links to the bare knuckled political operative
-------------snip--------------- Today an outfit called National Liberty Federation began airing about $290,000 in ads on radio and Fox News TV stations across Florida hammering Republican U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis:
-------snip---------
The National Liberty Federation is run by a Palm Beach County resident named Everett Wilkinson, who used to call the group the South Florida Tea Party. Wilkinson for years has worked closely with Roger Stone, hosting a 2011 Boca Raton Trump rally that served as a harbinger of his presidential campaign, vocally supporting more casinos in Florida, another Stone cause, and serving as the press contact promoting Stones latest book about the Trump campaign. In 2015 Wilkinson helped Stone fight a plan for the South Florida Water Management District to buy 46,800 acres of U.S Sugar land to help restore the Everglades.
So why would Stone want to tear down Ron DeSantis, when DeSantis has the support of Trump, Stone's longtime friend and onetime client?
--------------------snip------------------
Anyhoo one of Stone's most longstanding clients is U.S. Sugar. The sugar industry has reason to worry about DeSantis, since the northeast Florida conservative opposes taxpayer subsidies like those the sugar industry depends upon, and he voted against the farm bill.
The sugar candidate in the governor's race is clearly Adam Putnam. Agriculture commissioner Putnam is so closely aligned with the industry he would be comfy wearing candy wrapper suits.
DeSantis is the main threat to Putnam winning the Republican nomination. So what's the best way to defeat DeSantis?

Florida Repub. Governor Rick Scott on the left. Florida Dem Senator Bill Nelson on the right. Scott challenging Nelson for the Senate. A lose-lose situation. If Scott wins he'll fold at at the first sign of pressure from the left and vote with the Dems. If Nelson wins it same old same old Dem playbook.
OK
I thought that because Mueller hasn't indicted him, he must already have left the planet.
(But maybe he's just holed up with Julian Assange at the Ecuadorean Embassy in London?)
Also,I suspect Putnam may be soft on illegal immigrants if he's in bed with Big Sugar.
“Id vote for a pineapple before I voted for Nelson.”
Shame on Stone.
I’ll vote DeSantis, a true and courageous patriot.
If Scott wins he’ll fold at at the first sign of pressure from the left and vote with the Dems.
Yeah, if Rick Scott was elected to the Senate, hed only vote with us 90% of the time. Lets stay home and let Bill Nelson, who votes with us like 5% of the time, stay in office for 6 more years. Thatll teach those sub-91%-conservatives a lesson! Sure, President Trump wont be able to get any further judicial nominees confirmed, but its a small price to pay for keeping Rick Scott out of the Senate. Right?
No, wait, that would be retarded. If we want a Senate that will confirm Trumps judges and wont have Chuck Schumer calling te shots, we need to be willing to crawl over broken glass to vote in the general election for Rick Scott or any other imperfectly conservative Republican who is running against the Democrat enemy of the people. We cant make the perfect the enemy of the good, particularly when not voting for the Republican nominee would result in a Leftist being elected to thwart President Trumps agenda.
Scott is a fraud and a traitor. I won't support him. I won't reward a traitor with my vote. Made that mistake with George H.W. Bush and John McCain.
I won't vote for Nelson and don't care if he wins. I survived 8 years of Obama I can survive another Nelson term. Instead I'll be sending donations to real conservatives running for Senate in other states in the hopes of cancelling out a Nelson victory.
BTW how many calls and emails did you make to Scott when the Florida Gun Bill was headed to him for his signature? Signing that bill was a major disaster.
I dont like either one. Scott really screwed up and showed his true colors, but Nelson is a guaranteed 100% Democrat vote. The problem with Scott and his ilk is theyll vote 90% with conservatives on trivial matters, but theyll go Gang-of-8 on every vital bill and sell us out in a heartbeat. Just like he did with the BS gun law.
Im to the place where Id rather pull some poor bastards name out of the phone book than vote for any of these bastardsat least as long as it wasnt Broward County. Its just damn near impossible for any outsider to get into the ring, and thats what this country needscompetent people who arent lawyers.
In January when asked to comment about Trump's alleged "s**hole countries" remark Scott had this to say:
If this report is true, it is absolutely wrong to say or think this. I do not think this way, nor do I agree with this kind of sentiment. I represent Florida, and we are an amazing melting pot where over 250 languages are spoken. I work every day to make this the most welcoming state for everyone Haitians, Cubans, Venezuelans, and others from all around the world that call Florida home. Im incredibly proud of our diversity. Florida Gov. Rick Scott
Also remember how he tried to railroad George Zimmerman by appointing a leftist special prosecutor to bring charges after Sanford P.D. found the shooting justified and wouldn't charge him.
Most recently he has come out in favor of making Puerto Rico a state (pander much Gov. Scott?).Over 100,000 Puerto Ricans have moved to Florida following Hurricane Irma. Experts believe as many as 200,000 more will move to Florida over the coming year. Progressive voter registration groups are already working to register Puerto Rican voters.
The signs are there: Scott can't be trusted. He may vote with us most of the time but he'll screw us on immigration, amnesty, and second amendment issues. Best bet is to support real conservatives in other Senate races across the country and keep Nelson in the minority if he wins.
I’m not asking you to give a donation to Rick Scott—sending money to conservative GOP Senate nominees in other states is a great idea. But staying home, or voting for a fringe candidate, will help Bill Nelson win. That’s six more years of Bill Nelson voting against conservative judges, and in favor of raising taxes, and in favor of open borders, etc. The smart thing for you to do would be to send donations to out-of-state candidates that you like *and* hold your nose and vote for Rick Scott in your home state. One thing doesn’t rule out the other.
Nice behind the scenes view of things. Sugar subsidies make a fortune for “big sugar” but it’s just one of a thousand. Almost all of the subsidies have to go. Not saying De Santis is a saint, neither is Stone or Trump... just gotta have some principles for how government should operate which maybe none of them really have. In the end they are all big government, just not always supporting the same niche sector.
Thanks. They are no longer on the air nkw, but they ran for seems like 8 weeks, constantly. Hopefully Trump (who backs DeSantis) told Roger Stone to knock it off.
Yeah, FL-2 has had a string of mediocre, place-holding reps like our current congressman.
I used to like both of them. But Stone has shown himself to be truly disgusting, and DeSantis has shown himself to be courageous, brave, and working for US...same as Nunes, Jordan, Gaetz, etc.
Adios, Stone. Get lost.
