Deletion is not Deactivation. Facebook makes it difficult to locate the Account Deletion settings. Many Web searches also use the term delete but lead you to the deactivate settings.
Login to your Facebook account, then click on this link which will bring you to the Delete Account page.

Excellent suggestion!
April 1, 1900 for birthday. Facebook phone number to report abuse for my phone number.
If all else fails:
Remove as much personal info as possible.
Then change email to a throw away account that you will never use.
Then “delete” FB account.
If you have any other sites you want to get rid of send them to that email, too.
Then delete the email.
Ignore.
Way ahead of you.......
I closed my FB account years ago, back when Zuck said he’d pay for an illegal’s tuition but the American kids can go without.
No Thanks.
I bet even if you deleted it, they still have tracking crap embedded into your computer.
Bravo! That’s the way to do it. Enough bogus data will damage their business model.
I like my procedure better. My entire profile was false

That is a good start, but doesn’t give you much anonymity.
Every time you log on, FB records your ISP machine address. Even with dialup, there are not many different addresses if you are on the internet from the same physical location every time.
Also, every computer/phone has a unique signature as to the software, OS, and updates on that machine. It is essentially a machine fingerprint, and can be read by the site server.
Logging and cross referencing this info quickly tells them who you are, especially if you use search engines while on the net.
FB costs over $1,000 a year per user, the money IS being paid.
so did I and day after the shoe dropped on Suckerberg they deactivated it requesting I prove who I was.
Maybe no friends no photo no school no nut’en may have tipped them off
Later
Your friends at the NSA are tucking you in at night and making sure everything is all right.. :-)
Ditto for all the other institutions now controlled by democrats/marsxists CNN,ABC, CBS, NY times, Wash post etc.
, gov funded colleges, federal agencies like the IRS, FBI
Democrats/marxists have taken over the news media, newspapers ,internet, federal bureaucracy, government schools, academia,
etc. practically all institutions.
The only thing that I see Marxists/democrats don't control is Trump. Once they get rid of him then they’ll go after us and hour homes etc.
Why aren't we organizing for what's coming?
You are now a dog—preferably a dead one. :-)
Yup, forgot that step.
Toss your computer—time to get a new one.
Do it the Soviet citizen way:
Stock up on Vodka and max out your state handouts—and assume every word is monitored by your worst enemies.
If you think you need an account for Facebook to collect and aggregate your data, then you know nothing of the model. You don’t ever need to load the Facebook page. Every site you visit has the Facebook trackers and many others on them.
I used only one device to do FB, and that device is no longer in service, plus it wasn’t mine to begin with...............
I’m reading posts here...
Folks, you don’t understand data mining. Once the information is out there, it’s never coming back.
All of our posts here? Yup, they are stored and ready for use against us by whomever chooses to do so.
Imagine your worst fears about “big brother”, now multiply that by about 10x and you’ll be close to reality.
I’m an expert in finance and econ. What I know about the monetary system, wall street, underwriting etc, is so depressing and frightening that most people wouldn’t believe me if I got started. So, I just pedal onward hoping I die before it really gets ugly.
