A high school senior from Houston, Texas, was accepted by each of the 20 top-ranked universities to which he applied — and was offered a full scholarship to every single one of them.

Michael Brown, a 17-year-old student at Lamar High School, went viral after he was caught on camera screaming in glee upon learning he was accepted into Stanford University in December.

Little did the teen know at the time, but his excitement would increase by a factor of 20 in March when he was also accepted into Harvard, Princeton, Yale, the University of Pennsylvania, Georgetown, Northwestern, Vanderbilt and the University of Michigan, among other prestigious colleges.

But what did it take for Brown to pull off his flawless clean sweep?

To start, the high schooler has an impressive 4.68 grade point average and an SAT score of 1540 out of 1600. His ACT score, a 34 out of a possible 36, proved to be just as excellent.

Some people get results. They don’t assume that success is automatic and know they have to work at it consistently.

Some people think success in inevitable and just try a little then give up blaming others.

They aren’t born that way, it’s taught to them.

He must have spent a fortune applying. Many of these schools charge pretty hefty fees just for asking to be accepted for enrollment.

Hands up, don’t shoot!

Obviously the gentle giant was indeed getting his life on track, proving all us doubters wrong.

Some get all these accolades and then become History or Social Studies professors.

It’s not that he wants to be a lawyer, it’s that Poli-sci is a pretty dumbed down course of study that won’t challenge his intellect, way down their with social work.

Wait a sec- do folks know how many kids do as well as he did? 1540/34/A- GPA is everyday stuff across the country. What makes this unique is that he is not white. White/Asian kids who do this are just a bit above average. They don’t get offers of anything from upper tier schools- as they do not shift demographics in the right direction. America’s colleges and universities are corrupt and corrupting.

If you think my comments are “racist” you are lost in PC world, too.

I do hope this fellow makes it good. He has a lot against him in that regard though.

I figured as much when I didn’t see MIT or CalTech on the list of schools.

Your GPA can go over 4.0 with AP classes.

If he were white, going to a good high school, with same numbers, would he get 20/20 offers? The school is 74% non-white. He is smart, but all of the numbers have been fudged. I wish him well, but stories like this are to advance an agenda.

What happened to 4.0 being perfect?

When did SATs revert to 1600 totals?

AP and Honors frequently are from a 5.0 scale because of the increased difficulty.

15 years ago, my son missed ONE QUESTION on the English side of the SAT and NONE on the Math. He also had well above the the 4.0 GPA and was rejected by Harvard and Yale and was wait-listed at Princeton. Yep, you’re right. He’s white.

My first thought on seeing the headline...no way this kid is white.

He's the magic candidate for top universities, who are always preaching diversity - both black and a high achiever. I knew similar young man - son of two highly successful Nigerian (immigrant) doctors, and of course very smart himself. Was admitted to all universities he applied to.

I don't want to diminish his achievement, but there is no way you would ever see an Asian or White student with the same acceptance rate.

I’ve had several teens I know that this happened. They received acceptance letters and scholarships even though they never applied.

They had perfect scores on their SATs.

What would really be headline news would be if an Asian kid with that GPA and SAT score was accepted at even one Ivy League school.

We get at least one of these stories every year at college acceptance time. Clearly this is a smart, motivated young man and I truly wish him all the best.

Nevertheless I’m getting sick of the Mainstream media falling over itself in wonderment every time a black kid does well academically. The fact that he got 20 acceptances and all those scholarship offers shows how desperate top schools are for qualified “diverse” students.

2 years ago. I believe the writing section (bringing total to 2400) lasted about 10 years.

Huh, I thought 4.0 was tops. What scale is this?

It's the no-scale scale. It makes everything sound impressive.
