TOWN OF ISLIP, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) A Long Island judge stands accused of breaking into a neighbors home, but its what police say he stole thats baffling residents even more. Hes accused of taking worn womens underwear from the residence.
It happened around 9 a.m. Thursday on Donna Place in East Islip.
There was a 23-year-old girl home alone. She heard noise in the house, she saw an intruder, Suffolk County Police Chief of Department Stuart Cameron said.
When the intruder realized someone was home, police said he ran off. But officers quickly caught up with him a couple blocks away. judge Judge Accused Of Breaking Into Neighbors Home, Taking Womens Underwear
Turns out, it was a man who should know better, CBS2s Jessica Layton reported.
District court judge Robert Cicale lives right across the street from the home that hes accused of burglarizing.
He was found to be in possession of soiled female undergarments that we believe were either proceeds from todays burglary or proceeds from a prior burglary at the same location, Cameron said.
The 49-year-old was elected to the bench in 2015. Before that, he served as Islip town attorney.
Its unclear how Cicale got into the home or how well he knew his neighbor before the bizarre burglary, Layton reported.
The judge will not only spend a night in jail, but hell face a different judge Friday morning when hes arraigned in a Central Islip courtroom.
Does the name of the store rhyme with ‘Victoria’s Secret’?
The interrogation of Williams by Detective Smyth is astounding in its subtlety and effectiveness.
I've read that he undertook extensive preparations for it, consulting with psychiatrists and criminal profilers from both Canada and the United States.
The whole thing was sequenced very carefully, and he "walked" Williams from respected Air Force commander to serial killer in a series of small steps, each of which offered no way to back up.
The Markoff interview is just as good in my opinion, except that Markoff pulled the plug and asked for a lawyer instead of giving an explicit confession.
However, before he asked for a lawyer, he made it obvious that he was the murderer.
Detective Smyth was able to use Russell Williams' own sense of honor and responsibility to extract a full confession and a detailed description of each murder before the interview ended.
Will he be removed from the bench?
Here in Florida, the governor has the power to remove public officials from office upon arrest for serious crimes............
Yep. It's passed the simple fetish stage. He's become dangerous.
Rather than breaking & entering and add to that burglary, wouldnt it have been far less risky just ordering online at Victorias Secret or any other store that sells lingerie? Sure there would be a paper trail, but he could say he bought the lingerie for a girlfriend. How can he expect the defendants he judges to exercise good judgment when his is unbelievably low?
Does it really matter anymore? They're all scumbags.
Anyways, one's either MAGA or establishment these days.
Yeah I do actually.
No need to steal it....
Thrill and adrenaline rush have a lot to do with it, not the actual object itself................
I was finishing my lunch and nearly had yogurt come out of my nose reading that!
But wait...wouldn't they only sell Granny Panties there?
“Welcome to Costco...I love you.”
is it me or does it look like he washed off his makeup?
Funny story:
I had a middle aged female boss. Nothing wrong with that.
She asked where her staff was during the start of her staff meeting.
All the men were in the room, so I said, the girls are on their way. I’d seen them in the hall.
My boss said angerly, “girls are prepubescent females”.
What a fkn nut case. She was let go a few years later.
Makes me wonder how many times he has done this before and wasnt caught.
thanks
Bailiff...
Good point!
Now, now... he’s a pillar of the community, and was just doing “research.”
Kinda gives that old song “Here Come da Judge” a new meaning...
