TOWN OF ISLIP, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) A Long Island judge stands accused of breaking into a neighbors home, but its what police say he stole thats baffling residents even more. Hes accused of taking worn womens underwear from the residence.
It happened around 9 a.m. Thursday on Donna Place in East Islip.
There was a 23-year-old girl home alone. She heard noise in the house, she saw an intruder, Suffolk County Police Chief of Department Stuart Cameron said.
When the intruder realized someone was home, police said he ran off. But officers quickly caught up with him a couple blocks away. judge Judge Accused Of Breaking Into Neighbors Home, Taking Womens Underwear
Turns out, it was a man who should know better, CBS2s Jessica Layton reported.
District court judge Robert Cicale lives right across the street from the home that hes accused of burglarizing.
He was found to be in possession of soiled female undergarments that we believe were either proceeds from todays burglary or proceeds from a prior burglary at the same location, Cameron said.
The 49-year-old was elected to the bench in 2015. Before that, he served as Islip town attorney.
Its unclear how Cicale got into the home or how well he knew his neighbor before the bizarre burglary, Layton reported.
The judge will not only spend a night in jail, but hell face a different judge Friday morning when hes arraigned in a Central Islip courtroom.
We had one when I was at college in 1977. Made the national news. The Governor had to get involved. Lots of fun!
I've always wondered if the self-checkout lanes help to cut down on the shoplifting of embarrassing products like condoms, laxatives, enemas, etc.
I think those self-checkouts probably increase the sale of chips, cookies, donuts, and such.
Why do they have to call them soiled? When I hear the term soiled panties, it makes me think someone pooped themselves. If this is the case, that judge is sick.
Her reflex reaction was to call her mommy.
My reflex action is as follows, pick up my 9mm Tarus 17 shot pistol with a green laser. It is at my bedside. If possible to leave my home in safety with my wife do so. I have several exits. If I can not leave in safety kill the threat.
I would much rather flee but if impossible use every skill that I have to kill the threat. I have been shooting since a child. It is just part of my culture. Weapons are not evil but just a tool. I am pretty good with them.
A weapon should not be used unless there is mortal danger. If there is mortal danger one must use all your skills to kill. It is just that simple.
ps
If some stupid kid is stealing something outside my home in the night I would not kill him. If possible I would retain him for the cops. I would not kill him. If something outside my home is a mortal threat I will kill it.
This was on Long Island, NY, so nobody knows about guns.................
“Does the name of the store rhyme with Victorias Secret?”
I don’t thin so.
“Really? if your sexuality is threatened by what some clerk thinks of you buying undergarments for your wife, I suggest your sexual identity is precarious at best.”
I’m trying to veer into his mind - he may have not thought that way, although I did (along with you).
He was going to make some soup.
Why...he is a fine outstanding community leader that everyone should respect. NOT.
I've watched To Catch a Predator as well.....I love to see bad guys get caught! They're excuses are always the same which is amusing to hear but once you've seen a few the rest is just repeat as you mentioned..uninteresting indeed!
I no longer buy into the “mental health” excuses constantly used for criminals, nor do I give a hoot if they were abused when young. There's plenty of people as that who don't resort to killing people etc.
I agree most criminals are stupid.....You would have thought R. Williams would have been far more careful. He really did little to cover his tracks....he was a “sneaky” at best.
I think the longer these killers are on the move and get away with their crimes they begin to think they're"power' is infallible..... A familiar with Rifkin but not Nikko Jenkins so will take a look there.
Thanks for the conversation...would be great if FR could have a section on serial killers and such from time to time.
I don’t know what that means.
And I don’t WANNA KNOW what that means................................
