Money excerpts:
"That said, the president hasnt moved nearly fast enough in filling out the sub-cabinet government of officials who, because they are personally appointed by the president, are charged with making Trump policies a reality. Of the top 640 jobs that require Senate confirmation, the Partnership for Public Service has calculated that fewer than half 275 have been confirmed and are on the job. Another 144 people have been named or nominated but are awaiting confirmation. A total of 217 positions a third of the total have never had anyone named to fill them."
And,
"The longer those positions remain vacant, the longer they will remain in the hands of career civil servants or political holdovers from the Obama administration."

That’s nice to read the NR worried about Trump.
Kind of gives ya the warm and fuzzies.
Ha Ha! Home Alone!!! Does that mean he sets a bunch of booby traps to beat up intruders?
Best to speed up the process... that said I’d rather have Obama leftovers than ‘nevertrumpers’ from the national review ilk.
That’s the bottom of the barrel. Those are the people we want OUT of our party. Better an opponent than a traitor.
How stupid do the NR jerks think we are? They would sell their mothers into white slavery if they thought it would take down Trump. I'm with you - never trust the liars.
The appointees are another story. I'd love to see President Trump appoint some real-world Deplorables. These would be loyal people who haven't drunk the swamp water and don't have a hidden agenda. I, for one, would love to have a say in Education. I honestly think I'm more qualified with ideas that would save money and get the feds out of public education.
Didn’t Trump have a cameo in Home Alone?

Too true. One of the standard MSM motifs is the “we’re worried about him” storyline. The MSM are crap weasels.
Then it looks like there will be a “Home Alone II”. :)
Surprisingly I think John Fund makes some excellent points & recommendations. Not often I will give John Fund any of my time, because I generally do not like the man. But this time I must agree him in many respects. The advice he is giving is not only sound advice by critical advice to defeat the swampy laded Deep State.

It would make more sense to me for him to fire the holdovers and leave the positions empty than in the hands of known opponents.
Good point - I agree. Better to have no one in the slot than someone who does damage.
It also points to that fact that there are way too many positions that need Senate approval. There should not be more than about 50 that should require it. (Outside the judiciary)
I believe that the President was asked about this (lack of nominees) a few weeks back. He said he doesn't intend to fill those positions because they are unnecessary.
OTOH, there are currently 70+ nominees for various positions that have passed through committee and are ready for a floor vote. Time for the Repubs to overcome Dem obstruction and get these folks the vote they deserve.

You're right on both points - some he's not filling intentionally and others are waiting while dems drag their feet... Thanks Yew.
The fewer of his own people the President has around him the more dependent he is on McConnell’s people and Ryan’s people and career staff.
