I really don’t know how you can condemn somone for feeling that way. And so you recommend more “nose-holding” votes?!

You know, I am so tired of decades of voting for the “lesser of 2 evils” candidate.

That is why I got on the Trump train before he even declared—hoping he might run. Was sooo excited and for once was able to cast a vote for someone I really wanted instead of settling.

I wish we had Candidate Trump instead of President Trump because Candidate Trump did not have a bunch of Establishment swamp dwellers advising him...

As a candidate, I voted for a man who would do what was right regardless of the flack...That did not happen today.

I can see why people who are new signups feel that way because I am pretty much feeling the same way...and I have been here several years longer than you...

Trump just had his George H Bush “read my lips” moment. He’s now an inevitable one-termer. And the decline will continue for a godless nation that completely deserves it.

It doesn’t even matter to them. They are all Democrats.

If Trump vetoes it, congress critters had enough votes to OVERRIDE the veto anyway and there would be gov't shutting down and the chaos which follows.. POTUS alone can not write funding bills. If he could write the bill and sign it all by himself, it would be a much better bill. Blame Ryan/McConnell and swamp congress critters.

Ryan and McConnell are Lucy, the Budget is a football, and we are GUESS WHO. Just how can we get rid of those two Uniparty liars?

But he didn’t do anything on it—just like Obamacare 2.0, where he trusted Congress to write it and then tried to tell us it was a good bill.

If he wants to get a good bill in this environment, he has to work it—both directly with Congress and using his ability to go to the people.

He did that with the tax bill and it worked. But then he apparently decided to just delegate this one to whatever Ryan and McConnell came up with, again—and it was a doozy!

He needs to simultaneously work Congress hard AND go over the MSM to the people, early and repeatedly, if he wants to get decent legislation.

And he didn’t do that at all.

Yeah, a little less focus on Biden and a lot more focus on this bill could have made a big difference.

Trump might be gone before they are. His approval will drop into the twenties over the weekend, and Mueller will be sharpening his dagger. Bet on it.

Ole Mule has been afraid to really trowel out the BS because of Trump's popularity, with that gone the sword of Damocles will fall.

At this point I would expect Joe to hand Don a baseball bat, and Don would beat himself up with it.

Trumps always been a democrat. A life long democrat and big government liberal. He talks the conservative talk, but doesn’t believe a word of it. He’s about trump first. He’s a Obama-level self absorbed narcissist. I heard him say no one had time to read it, including himself of course, but he signed it anyway. I’m from Queens like he is, there’s a saying: empty garbage cans make the most noise. If he had any stomach for this he would have said this is unacceptable, go back to the drawing board and bring me a bill that includes.....I don’t know.....maybe things he promised and omits things the said he would eliminate. I said all along, he really never wanted to be president. He’s like a dog that barks his ass off while chasing the car and doesn’t know what to do with it now that he’s caught it. Better than Hillary? Of course. But still pathetic nonetheless

What you are describing is “I want it to be correct 100% of the time. EVERY TIME”. An absurd, and childish standard that I’m sick of people on this side demanding as a condition of their support, while the Dems have no such stupidity.

Frankly it is getting tiresome having to listen to political children that believe Trump’s job is to absolve them from actually forcing that other branch to do 1/1000th that Trump has managed to do without their damn help. We have a culture here that amounts to “sit on your ass” and then getting mad when results just dont fall into place.

I didnt vote for the lesser of anything. I voted for selfless private citizen that has given more more than I could have imagined, at great risk to himself, and certainly more than two Bush 1, 2, and Reagan.

Perfection is not my standard, and one I’m not going to play to.

All he had to do was keep his word, but he failed.

This is going to do significant damage.

Thank you for referencing that article EinNYC. Please note that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

Noting that I watched the 1 PM EST WH press release about omnibus spending bill, I’m satisfied that Pres. Trump is still the same business-analyzing genius that he demonstrated on the campaign trail imo.

Regarding the spending bill, Trump indicated that the bulk of the bill’s spending is military-related (a campaign promise) and therefore more compliant with Congress’s constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers.

In fact, whenever lawless Obama signed a budget bill, it could be argued that most of the vote-winning domestic spending by the corrupt, post-17th Amendment ratification Congress wasn’t justifiable under Congress’s Section 8-limited powers as it should have been.

"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States."—Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

Federal budgets need to be 100% justifiable under Section 8.

As suggested for awhile, arguably the problem with some things that Trump promised on campaign trail concerning his vision for MAGA is this. Trump was getting everybody’s hopes too high because he was going to have to work, hopefully for no more than two years, with a predictably obstructionist Congress left over from the lawless Obama Administration.

And based on recent posts concerning the 1 PM WH press release about the spending bill today, evidently only a few FRreepers were braced for “disappointments” in Trump’s first few years in office, very successful business maverick Trump probably seeing “disappointments” as business as usual.

Remember, Trump is unelectable.

Never give up.

His “read my lips moment”, this was the day he starts to lose the base. This bill goes out of its way to attack us and Trump. He signed it and l am just disgusted. If he gets impeached then he does oh well

You know, as I said, I did not hold my nose with Trump...that was why I voted for him with such excitement...

I bet I went to more rallies, contributed more and bought more trump gear than most here including you.

I voted for Candidate Trump~said I would crawl across broken glass to vote for him; however, I have not been happy with everything—in fact, several very important stands. 100% correct, hardly...the health care reform bill was a turd and don’t get me started on DACA expansion of the numbers.

Sorry, this bill is going to come back to bite the GOP, but more importantly, is going to impact us all and our children and grandchildren...$1.3T?!?!? EVERY YEAR GOING FORWARD unless someone stops it, and frankly Trump was what I thought was our last chance. Candidate Trump, the man I voted for would have vetoed it BTW.

$1.3T And yet no wall funding (which we were not supposed to even have to pay for anyway), no grid hardening from foreign hacking or solar MP or EMP...just pork pork pork like underground tunnels between NY and NY and Planned Parenthood funding. Of course Pelosi and Schumer are grinning ear to ear.

100% Perfection? Hardly...sorry, IMHO the bill sucked, and I am tired of “absurd childish standard” that everything Trump does is perfect because I voted for him and/or the choice was Hillary...Thoughtful people weigh and evaluate actions—the bill was crap and Trump even said he was thinking about Vetoing it...but thinking about and doing are not the same. I am very disappointed that he changed his mind, and so are many other loyal Trump voters—whether they are new here or not.

Just so grand that we have all 3 branches of government?
