Whatever the kid was, he didn’t deserve being bullied like that. Sure kids will be kids but it sounds like the school gave the typical boilerplate anti-bullying response but did nothing.
What gets me is that a 12 year old thought it made sense to tell everyone he was bi-sexual.
They trying to make this kid in to another martyr for the cause.
But note the bullying seems to be not related:

My recollection was in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades kids were brutal to each other and any everyone else.
I remember one girl told her friend that her measurements were 40 40 40 and a half. The friend told a boy. He told all the other boys. Nobody ever said anything to her, but every time you saw her you thought 40 40 40 and a half. That had to be a tough way to start life.
The teachers for that age group really earn their pay although I remember one who did it to molest the girls.

What does it mean he "came out with the information"? Did the school have an assembly in which he told everyone? Did he hijack the mic during the morning announcements? Post it on the lunch-room menu? Maybe put up a poster next to the trophy case?
Why would he make a big deal out of telling anyone, then go home and wail because now everyone knows? Kids can be cruel. Kids can be crueler if you're stupid.

Absolutely right. No good is going to come from shoving this BS down kids throats it is horrendous and is only getting worse. We are one Judge away from young girls having to shower with some creep claiming he’s a she. It’s already happening in some prisons

My 12-year old son hasn’t a clue about girls yet. I suspect that will change in 7th grade, but in 6th grade, this kid should be doing homework and sports.
I thought bullying was not allowed in school anymore. This is really stupid and a waste of human life. Everyone involved in this mess should be ashamed of themselves. Parents should have been more active in parenting like ASKING QUESTIONS when the kid was feeling bad. Horrible for the parents, but they should have been more aware of their child’s outlook on life.
