Yes but now public middle schools make a big issue out of it, pushing ‘gay is ok’ and such upon kids many of whom are only just beginning to think about sex, let alone other than the standard biological male-female attraction.

Anyway, if he was being bullied for being fat, that is undoubtedly very common. It seems to me that parents can and should do many things if their children are chubby. For example, they can rid their homes of sugary and processed foods, and particularly fat bombs like chips and juices and sodas. And of course they can pretty much force their kids to get out of the house and be active, ideally involved in sports year-round. And they can facilitate this by controlling telephone use and limiting internet and video games at home. Not everyone has good parents but I suspect that most fat kids are the victims of bad leadership. (Note I am not saying all fat kids, just most; obviously, some have real health issues driving it. But most are sitting around eating chips and playing video games instead of getting outside and being active.)
