An actors' union is calling for on-set observers to monitor all sex scenes for major Hollywood films.
The move, triggered by the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment scandal, is part of a new code of conduct from the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, which represents more than 160,000 actors in the US.
The union, SAG-AFTRA, produced a detailed seven-page guide that aims to tackle workplace sexual harassment in films, TV shows and commercials.

The number of cocker spaniel abusers is a lot smaller than the number of teenage human actor abusers.
No one's ox gets gored by the American Humane Association, so to speak.
Put out a call to that guy in Ray Stevens’ song “Hello Martha”
I hate it when a good war movie gets interrupted by a love scene or romance or any other thing that doesn’t really along in the war movie other than some odd reason for filler. Ridiculous
Nudiditity with unbad kisses is prohibited.
“Margaret,” I think.
“Why the hell do they even need sex scenes in the movies or on TV ?”
I remember when people would kiss in a movie and the camera would kind of fade out as mood music welled up.
When we heard that music we knew we could go to the bathroom or visit the candy counter without missing anything.
Do that now and you’ll probably miss an orgy or a gang rape.
I miss the old days.
Hollywood sucks.
Let’s face it, we sometimes like a little titillation in some movies. To me the funniest sex scene was in PORKYS when the coaches, teacher and principal are discussing how to properly “examine” the private parts of a male student, “last seen hanging out in the girl’s locker room!”
Hahahahahahahahahahaha! The irony. How about don’t do sex scenes.
I agree. Only poor filmmakers need explicit nudity and/or sexual scenes.
Yes! I find that true with any artform, especially film and music.
You’re right, of course! I’m not as ‘Ray Stevens’ smart as I used to be.
Nudity and sex sell but so do wholesome movies without it. Witness just how many folks stay home today compared to a few decades ago.
I used to go to 3 - 4 movies each week; now, if I can find that many worth my time in a year, Im lucky.
My desire for movies havent changed, movies have!
In "Tattoo" Bruce Dern says that he and Maud Adams actually had sex.
Adams has denied it.
In Dern's autobiography he thought it would be "rude" if he WASN'T aroused.
So he said/ she said.
I've read where Jack Nicholson wished that A-list actors COULD show actual intercourse.
He thinks it would "enhance" the movie-goer's experience.
As Jack of course would.
TBH, I have always thought that ALL Hollywood people were immoral creeps with no compass.
I'm not judging, but I just *assumed* that everyone was actually "doing it" on screen.
It never occurred to me that someone in Hollywood would actually have some kind of "morals".
Think of how many starlets used their bodies in exchange for fame.
SAG BEFORE.............................SAG AFTRA
Bill Clinton has put in an application to be an on-set observer.
“Why not eliminate all nudity and sex scenes?”
Good idea! Most are gratuitous and unnecessary to the plot or action anyway. Certainly, excellent films were made and important and entertaining stories were told without them in the past.
Agents have more than one client and the production team will say one thing in negotiations and “innovate” some other requirement on the set the day of the shoot.
Waiting for all nudity and sex in movies to be accomplished with prosthetic props.
The violence in movies is fake, why have true nudity?
