Im putting Sunday in my calendar. It does mean getting dinner for the troops before 4:30.

Monday as well!
As to one topic of conversation -- yes, the injury was to Carrie's upper lip and then on her chin on the right side. Basically, when she fell she bit completely through her lip. The docs and cosmetic surgeon did a fantastic job hiding the scars (and makeup does the rest, but there is a noticeable change in her lip line).
Now on to the show - Mrs Commish and I scored it pretty much how the voting went:
1. Caleb - second on Carrie songs, First on Mom Songs
2. Maddie - Huge win on the Carrie songs, did just an ok job on "God Only Knows" (had her 4th on second song).
3. Gabby - Actually had her tied with Cade on Carrie song, but she brought it home on Mom Song. gave her a slight edge over Cade.
4. Cade - had him 3rd on both songs, but Gabby edged him out on the second song even though I think he did a great job with Simple Man.
5. Michael - And he waddled away. Waddle Waddle Waddle. Hated to see him have such an off night at such a crucial time.
For the Finale Prediction -- I think it will be a knock down drag out and may come down to the songs the judges pick for them. While I think Maddie may have the lead in the polls at the moment I am going to predict CALEB will be this years winner.
Michael should try Broadway. He performs like a solo vocal in a play. Liked him , and originally thought hed be there in finale but his mixed performances did him in, same for Cade. Once he tried to slow it down , it revealed his weakness
Nice summary of last nights performance and your take....
My prediction pre last nights show previously posted in thread.
Maddie, Michael, Gabby for top 3
Missed Michael, got the other 2. You could be right on Caleb, as he sneaks in the win due to split voting amongst the other 2.
Felt that could have happened with Michael in a final 3 just for that same reason....
but was obviously wrong on him making it .
My preference Maddie for the win.
Gabby to me doesn’t have the versatility of Maddie, and picks safe songs that don’t take her out of a comfort zone.
Maddie will experiment, and show versatility.
Bumping my prediction. Yay, I got something right.

Congrats.
You got it and thread bragging rights....
I had 2 of 3 in a prior thread post. Picked Michael as 3 , but also had Maddie, Gabby in the finale...
Should be interesting to see if Carrie Jr, Maddie the Meek, or just a fine Ole Country Boy becomes the next American Idol
Perfect review of the two. Both had promise. What I liked about Michael, what I like about the Voice, is to see raw talent move forward by some of the contestants, who take the notes, improve, grow, and become polished by the end of the season. Michael was the most improved this season. He really blossomed.
Jones became a hit when she performed Chuck E's In Love on Saturday Night Live in 1979, but then seemed to slowly fade from the pop charts. Maddie has that same quirkiness (she even did a little scat last night) and plays several instruments, but I do think that Idol wants the showstopper, the person who will wow a concert arena.
I had hoped to see Maddie break out of her subdued persona and try a diva belt, so maybe she's saving it for the final (a gutsy move that belies a confidence that she'd make it that far). I hope she's not suckered into the box the judges are putting her in by calling her a "storyteller" singer.
If the power song is what the voters want, and if it comes down to Caleb and Gabby, I think that Gabby will win. Yes, she looked like Mini-Carrie (which helps a lot), but she also delivers the goods. She won't get lost in the arena smoke and lights, and her voice will rattle the rafters. Caleb will have to match that with a high-energy country hit, not another deep soft-sung country ballad.
The voters want glitz and the producers want future bodies in concert arenas. Maddie may sell the albums if she does more than covers, and the same goes for Caleb. None of them have to write their own material if there are songwriters looking for performers to leverage. While my heart is in Maddie winning, my head says that Gabby will take it.

Basically, when she fell she bit completely through her lip.
Your (and your better halfs) summations are just right. It did come out right for the finale. You could be right with the final prediction because I think younger women / girls may be more motivated to sign up to vote.
I like to think of, could this show make a popular, high earning singer (which it certainly has in the past)? Both girls have a shot, I believe, from the potential we have seen. I cant figure out if Caleb has what he needs to make it, but it could be. Scotty McCreery really is doing very well.
It is beyond me how the Voice finalists dont do better. One of Blakes winners is moving along in the country circles, but what the hell happens to the rest? The show has such a good premise. It doesnt matter what you look like, its all about your sound. And they have coaches, rather than wimpy judges. So it is understandable that the coaches, when they give notes after a fellow coachs person has performed, that they are not harsh. The coaches get very attached to the contestants theyve been coaching.
Sometimes the performance shows on the Voice are so good, I feel it would have been worth watching for $ even.
And a few years ago Adam Levine went on Howard Stern and railed politely against the producers, saying that they unnecessarily were holding these contestants back. Cant remember the details. He definitely does what he can for the contestants he believes in. They probably all do. But what happens? Some of them also deserve to be played on the radio. Not everyone has what it takes, but it doesnt make sense that Idol contestants sometimes make it big and no one has on the Voice?
I agree that based on what we have seen, Gabby should best Caleb on these performances. Shes already got her It factor.
The finale will tell a lot. And just because you dont win, doesnt mean you dont become the bigger star. Adam Lambert, anyone? kris whatever, which county fair did he hit last summer?
-PJ
Yes them too.
Oh, and Lauren Alaina!
I disagree. I think Caleb is most improved, which is why I have been saying for the past three weeks that I think he is the dark horse to win.
You know, when I wrote that Michael was the most improved, I had that thought about Caleb. Both were young guys without the confidence they needed to showcase their natural talents. Cable is arguably the most improved, both really took their notes and built on their strengths.
Not all voters want glitz. Some prefer quality over flash.
Unfamiliar with "God Only Knows"? How can that be?
Michael gave a strong audition, but Caleb was a bit weaker and remember we were all surprised that he made it to Hollywood week?
Damn...... I missed it all
