About a year ago, the ice bucket challenge for ALS awareness was making the rounds on online videos. Now, we have Lemons for Leukemia. Its sponsored by Be The Match, a bone marrow donation registry.
Today, GMA was challenged. The anchors have challenged The Rock, Will Smith, and others. So, you soon be hearing or seeing more lemon eating videos.
As a Leukemia survivor and Stem Cell Transplant recipient, Im all for awareness regarding BMT/SCTs. If you have ever thought about donating, they no longer draw through the bone. They use a method similar to donating platelets, only the stem cells are kept. The process itself takes about 5 hours. Please contact Be The Match if interested.

Not sure if our cancer ping list would be interested in this. Your call. Blessings and prayers X
Continued success, prayers and blessings to you also HollyB.
Im so sorry about your brother. Is he still in active treatment?
He will be in my prayers.
He's a 1000 miles from his family and he lives alone(well, not counting Dr. Dolittle's pets). It won't be easy...only hope he has a good team of(local)medical/support people around him(including work/church).
Other arrangements all depend on further diagnosis/treatments right now(whatever it takes).
After I responded, I recalled your recent thread.
This cant be easy for you while so far away. Perhaps you can see if your brother will sign a release so you can speak to the dr as well. He has a lot going on, and may miss some information.
I just recall that it was helpful for someone to help me out with note taking while I was in the hospital. Another option would be to see if you can be conferenced in on the follow up with the dr. You can ask questions, etc. hopefully, your brother will be receptive to this as well as his dr. No two drs feel the same from experience. . Just want to offer a suggestion As an alternative way to support him since there will be a lot of information.
Prayers for both of you.
I appreciate that information, thank you.
How about a challenge to not be a socially-pressured idiot for a cause?
I get your point. Sucking on a lemon slice isnt so bad for those who want to partake.
It wouldnt be bad at all, but they do pressure higher profile people to do this stupid stuff, for fear of negative press and indirectly affecting their careers.
