Did Dicks make the corporate decision to stop selling the dreaded AR, high capacity mags and change the age to sell a firearm to 21 on their own or were they pressured? At any rate I will not be shopping at Dicks any longer over their stupid heart string tug decision. The AR has never killed a sole or creature without the assistance of a human to make the interaction function as designed.
I remember going into a Dicks by the U-District in Seattle. Nothing gun related at all there.

I personally feel that Cabela's is a little high on some things, but for each of those things that I consider just a little high at Cabela's, Dicks requires a second mortgage and rights to your first born son.

Whoever wants an AR, and doesn’t currently own one, hasn’t been reading the tea leaves x the past few years.
223 is not legal to hunt deer here but it is a cost efficient to keep up proficiency in shooting. I suppose they will go after bigger guns as they chip away at our rights.

Also Dick’s will stop selling all guns for those under 21.
Surprised PETA hasn’t taken a cue from all of this and started putting pressure on businesses to stop selling guns that “kill” poor helpless animals.
A few weeks before the Columbine shooting, I was shopping for a Ruger 10/22. I’d been to Dicks and a few other stores. A week or so after Columbine, I decided on the rifle I wanted. Dicks stopped selling semiautomatics (they also stopped the Veterans’ discount), so I had to go to Gander Mountain to get the rifle I wanted.
Dick’s is DEAD to me. An Academy just moved into town and is much preferred for a variety of reasons. This one is icing on the cake for me.
IMO: Dick's is just a clothing store that sells the overpriced Nike and Underarmour type crap. The sporting goods around the perimeter of the store are mostly to give an authentic feel to the clothes. People want to feel like they really are serious about their outdoor/athletic pursuits by spending a bunch of money on stylish clothes. The sporting goods just set the mood.
If they sell the occasional pair of ice skates, bowling ball, or deer rifle it's all good; but, not really important to their profitability.

LOL - that's what I thought too.
If you read the legislation the Rats proposed yesterday in the House it pretty much covers all firearms except revolvers and bolt action rifles.
I guarentee you, if they ever got that pushed thru revolvers would be next because in the eyes of a Gun Grabbing commie there is no difference between a semi- auto and a revolver...one shot for every squeeze of the trigger.
