The "Hacking Linked to China Exposes Millions of U.S. Workers" is under-appreciated: China successfully hacked the server holding the data, for the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) background checks for US workers. You know, including, in (I think several hundred thousand cases) fingerprints.

Can you say a massive surge in identity theft against US govt. workers, throwing their lives into chaos and hobbling the US government, at a time deemed most convenient to Red China?

IIRC, the person in charge of security there was an Obama-appointed, affirmative action hire with a degree in *art history* (!!) not in IT security.
