Sen. Ted Cruz’s stock is rising among members of President Trump’s base who feel double-crossed after the president offered amnesty to illegals in the immigration debate. Some who opposed Mr. Cruz in his 2016 run for the White House are even clamoring for the Texas Republican to mount a primary challenge to Mr. Trump in 2020. The newfound esteem for Mr. Cruz, whom Mr. Trump dubbed “Lyin’ Ted” when they battled for the 2016 Republican nomination, is coming from people who were die-hard supporters of the president.
“Ted Cruz has kept his word to the American citizens, and we are watching this very, very carefully,” said Sue Payne, a conservative activist in Washington’s Maryland suburbs who in 2016 championed Mr. Trump and reviled Mr. Cruz. “I’m getting very sick of Donald Trump right now. He’s turning his back on the people who put him in office.”
The moves by Mr. Trump that have alienated supporters include the budget deal that threatens more skyrocketing debt and a tax cut law that could make people pay more in high-tax states.

I think a lot of what he does this day, is driven by his current campaign, pleasing his constituency but there really isn’t anything wrong with that.
Cruz was pretty much a newbie and lower staff if he was talking about whom should be sitting on the SCOTUS, Luttig or Roberts. He was not the Prez. People change their mind, I wouldn’t get wrapped up in this.

And even if that bill were to stop the majority of chain migration outside of the family, legally, it will take 10-17 years to rid our system of it.

On this issue, I think he is, in part at least, pandering to the hard right and his constituency to turn out the votes for the election. I bring up chain migration, Cruz has spoken on CM and says it needs to end. I’m not sure if he is realistic here.
I’m not an expert. So far, he’s largely been the only one totally against this bill so I don’t think it is that he is the only one who understands and Mike Lee, Rand Paul and others, Tom Cotton, just don’t grasp the situation. But I certainly don’t have this, “bitterness” towards him like some.

Harvard educated Ted Cruz, made a name for himself that he, stood for the original intent of the Constitution... except for the 'natural born' requirement to hold the office of president... Then Ted Cruz went all Obama, a fellow Harvard supposed educated lawyer. It is beyond sad that so many that are 'natural born' are willing to toss out their God given and protected Constitutional 'gift' to a fast talking Cuban Canadian.
The original intent from the founding fathers gave two US citizen parents the power to bestow 'natural born' US citizenship... birthing their child on US soil. Ted Cruz will never ever be a 'natural born' US citizen....
By definition dreamers have not committed any crimes...Trump is presently deporting any illegal who has committed a felony! The 800,000 who have signed up plus the 1,000,000 Trump added are the ones he wants to give a pathway to citizenship. This after he campaigned on "NO AMNESTY" I know you don't want to face up to your hero throwing us under the bus but that's whats happening.....so there!!!
