The Louisville men's basketball team has been stripped of its 2013 national championship title as well as its 2012 Final Four appearance after the NCAA denied the school's appeal on Tuesday.
The penalties, which were originally announced in June, stemmed from an investigation into allegations that a former Louisville staff member provided strippers to entertain players and recruits during on-campus dormitory parties between 2011 and 2015.

I call “racism!”
I’ve long believed that Papa John has been paying the football players. No way does that school get that quality of player without payments.
It’s the Lance Armstrong effect.
Everybody does it, so you decide to do “it” right, and eventually get penalized for it.
It’s past time to vacate the Colorado Buffaloes’ 1990 victory over the Missouri Tigers, and their national championship that year.
How is this punishment? They vacated games from four years ago. All they lost were three or four scholarships. Until they start really doing something, the cheating, etc will never end. It changes nothing.
yep, biggest officiating screw up in NCAA history.
How about UMASS and Calipari in 1996.
They made the Final 4 but did not win the championship. The Final 4 appearance was vacated.
Pitino was never charged or arrested in connection to the bribery case, which has been investigated by the FBI and Department of Justice, but he allegedly had knowledge and directed payments to potential recruits
Rick Pitino, a Trump hater
“This might be the first NCAA championship vacated.”
On a lesser and self-interested note, my alma mater (the Univ of Minnesota) had it’s 1996-97 Final Four appearance/banner stripped and its 1997-98 NIT Championship stripped. The team lost scholarships too.
IOW, the brown fecal matter really hit the fan. It took our program a long time to recover from it.

If I were UL I would tell the NCAA see you in court. After allowing North Carolina to cheat on in all sports for two decades with no penalties, the NCAA has no credibility. Alabama, Duke, Kentucky, Ohio State and some of the other bigger schools should form a new college association and tell the NCAA where they can go, they are just like the FBI a laughing stock.
Judging from UK this year, he’s not paying them enough.
...and yet UNC skates.
ML/NJ
That game was decided by three of the worst officiating mistakes in NCAA history.
It’s good they had it taken away, they certainly didn’t deserve the win.
So far...
I knew I should have kept my bracket from that year.
Yes, but some other team was denied the Final Four position.
