cislunar

Huh? Is that like 'cisgender'?

What the hell does that even mean?

Come on, if you can’t do a right-click to lookup the definition of a word, or bother to use a search engine, you just make FR look bad.

I see humor and sarcasm aren't your strong suits...

During his closing comments, he asked a few interesting questions about what time in history we might choose to live in rather than our current time. Don't miss his exercise. Do participate in it.

Andy suggested that the future always brings progress and improvements in the human condition.

I would agree that science brings near universal improvements however I do not agree that the human condition is always improved as time marches on.

I would suggest that the twentieth century saw a whole host of degradations in the human condition.

Communism and Socialism killed off over 120 million souls and I don’t really think that period of history has drawn to a close.

Feminism set off changes in the family structure that continues to destroy lives. Governments engaging in social engineering is also destroying the family and lives as a consequence.

Socialism is driving changes in morality and economics that is making full time work harder and harder to come by.

Atheism is on the march, pushed by government and activist, driving God out of community life and try to minimize God’s influence on society and the family.

The author suggested that no one would want to live in an earlier time but I don’t know if that is true.

“cisluner,” - ‘between the earth and the moon’

(the Left is always expropriating and twisting Language for their own ends— this is a normal word in the space-world.)

Excellent commentary!

BTW, for folks who do not recognize his Name- This is the Guy that wrote (the story that became the Movie) “Martian.”

I don’t necessarily endorse his political-beliefs nor his Vision of Space. But, he has done quite a bit to help popularize Space more, for mainstream audience’s. And this is a good chance to hear the guy talk in a long-form setting.

‘technical definition’

“Cislunar space (alternatively, cis-lunar space) is the Volume within the Moon’s orbit, or a sphere formed by rotating that orbit. Volumes within that, such as low earth orbit (LEO) are distinguished by other names. Practically, cislunar space is a useful label for “the volume between geostationary orbit and the moon’s orbit”. Beyond cislunar space lies translunar space.”
>Cis-lunar is Latin for “on this side of the moon” but also “not beyond the moon”.
(no “lgbtq-xyz-naacp-nfl-stuff, involved, at all.)
