The glamorous face of Queen Nefertiti, who could have been the mother of King Tutankhamun, has been brought to life using the latest 3D imaging technology.
It took 500 hours to recreate the bust and the jewellery was even handcrafted by designers from Dior.
However, the colour of the 3,400-year-old queen's skin has raised controversy with people claiming she would not have been so fair in real life.

I don’t want to split too many hairs here, but you’re conflating ethnicity with nationality. There were blacks absorbed into the Roman Empire, but we wouldn’t think of them being Roman. But such is the fate of empires, I suppose.
Hitler was also black and so was Stalin and Mao.
not guilty
Kathy Griffin.
Whose bottoms? I missed that. :)
I remember when there were people claiming that Beethoven was black. I don't think I have heard that claim made recently. (Maybe he went deaf listening to too much loud rap music.)
King Tut’s DNA is haplogroup R1b which is the same as 68% of European men.
Elizabeth Taylor played Cleopatra. Not Nefertiti.
She was so beautiful.
I remember when some prof with no proof just came out and claimed Cleopatra was black because her grandmother said so. Cleopatra, descendant of the Greek Ptolemy family. Coins in her image exist and she does not look black.
You forgot Grace Kelly,........
I seem to recall DNA evidence showed a mix of Mediterranean, Arabic and even Celtic DNA. Lots of common Indo-European ancestors, probably.
Current Coptic Egyptians (10% of the population) are the descendants of the Pharaohs; the majority of Egyptians today are the result of the Arab invasion (when Arabs spilled out of the peninsula and made their way across North Africa, eventually invading & holding much of Spain). Tribes like the Berbers were the previous North African populations.
The Egyptians called themselves “people of the black land.” The black nationalist sort purposefully misunderstand that as “land of the black people”.
I’m black...
From my Waist to my Knees!
Was that cultural appropriation ?
Cleopatra’s family was Greek.
From Wikipedia:
“They also associate the Coptic component with Ancient Egyptian ancestry, without the later Arabian influence that is present among other Egyptians.”
Thanks, I did not know that.
If only he had used Colgate, he’s be alive today....
