Is this the glamorous face of Queen Nefertiti?

The glamorous face of Queen Nefertiti, who could have been the mother of King Tutankhamun, has been brought to life using the latest 3D imaging technology.

It took 500 hours to recreate the bust and the jewellery was even handcrafted by designers from Dior.

However, the colour of the 3,400-year-old queen's skin has raised controversy with people claiming she would not have been so fair in real life.

The surviving bust of Neftertiti from the time of Nefertiti was found in the ruins of the workshop where the bust was made, in the city where Nefertiti once lived and spit out kids for the Pharaoh Akhenaten. The skin tone can be observed from the many pictures online. Thanks sparklite2 .

History is what it is...not what one wishes it was.

If only that were true. The past is always uncertain.

BTW, this 3d reconstruction was based on the mummified head of the "Younger Lady" from KV-35 -- meaning these folks are advocates of the hairdresser Joann Fletcher's farfetched (and possibly plagiarized) claim that the "Younger Lady" was Nefertiti. That's already been shown to be fallacious, thanks to the DNA research -- and Fletcher's use of a severed arm found nearby also was ruled out, as it belonged to someone other than the YL mummy.

I do have to kinda admire the obsession many UK Egyptophiles have for Nefertiti, probably has to do with growing up under a figurehead queen.

DNA certainly proves the case but especially older black nationalists in the U.S. (and maybe in Great Britain as well) try claiming math, engineering, architecture, art, etc. were invented by black Africans, claiming they were the ancient Egyptians,

In the mid-late 60s, in California, I had to take a Lower Division history class; the instructor was black. No big deal.

Then he started in on the Egyptians and Greeks, including Cleopatra, were black; that West Africans had a thriving pre-Columbian transatlantic trade going on with the Mayans and/or Aztecs; and that a black invented the radio long before Marconi, and then I filed a drop.

Ludwig van Beethoven was black. His music had some real soul in it.

Personally, I imagine the bust created by an artist of her own time looks more like her than that recreation.

Bingo,

I knew somebody here besides me would remember when all of the black claim to have invented everything claptrap really got started.

Back then it was so funny because it reminded us of the stupid Russians in the Soviet Union did the same thing, while their own people would stand in line as long as five hours to buy a loaf of bread!

Who in their right mind then, would have believed that at least half of the “educated people” in the U.S. would now accept it as fact and call anyone that doesn’t a racist and a liar!

Leftists seem to think every famous person in history is either black or homosexual.

I imagine, due to the stigma of coming out, there are a lot more gay historical figures than we’ll ever know about. In the case of blacks, what we see is pretty much what we get.

Ah, yes; the famous Popov, "inventor" of rad--I mean the popov. I have noticed they co-opt Sikorsky's helicopters as "Russian" inventions, even though he was Russo-American. LOL

She looks like Elizabeth Taylor!

BTW, I’ve stopped watching Josh Gates’ programs. “All hat and no cattle”, as they might say in TX. He always makes all these claims and then comes up with no proof.

Cultural appropriation, hypocrisy, and, uh, imperfect recall is the very top and bottom of Afrocentrism. In the quote below, the statement about philosophy, Socrates, etc. is a reference to the Great Library of Alexandria, which was constructed by the Greek/Macedonian dynasty of the Late Kingdom. The ass-brained claim that the Greeks learned everything from the Egyptians (black Africans) at the Library reverses the order of events, putting effect before cause, besides being egregiously racist (and in this example, homophobic).
"We built pyramids before Donald Trump even knew what architecture was. We taught philosophy and astrology [sic] and mathematics before Socrates and them Greek homos ever got around to it... Do some cracker come and tell you, 'Well my mother and father blood go back to the Mayflower,' you better hold your pocket. That ain't nothing to be proud of, that means their forefathers was crooks." -- Al Sharpton, Speech at Kean College (1994), transcribed in The Forward (December 1995), as quoted in Foolish Words : The Most Stupid Words Ever Spoken (2003) by Laura Ward, p. 192.

I take it that would mean ancient Egyptians were lighter skinned than current Egyptians.

Many Indians are nearly as dark-skinned as some blacks, but their DNA is Caucasian, lacking any sub-Saharan African component. The tomb paintings in Egypt don't appear to show pale skinned people.

...a lie that has made it into the U.S. textbooks so that all our kids now are as certain of it as they are of the 1970 lie of “globull warming!”

The 70s lie was a new ice age, brought on by human activity. Warming lies started when the predicted ice age fizzled. When the warming lie fizzled too, it became climate change.
