On "Outnumbered" on Friday, Fox News contributor and former Utah congressman Jason Chaffetz slammed Attorney General Jeff Sessions and said it's time to "get rid of him."
Some lawmakers in recent weeks have called for Sessions to resign, criticizing his Justice Department for not cooperating with Congress and for leaks related to the investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
Sessions recused himself from the FBI's Russia probe in early March after acknowledging that he had had two previously undisclosed encounters with the Russian ambassador during Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign. He said it would be improper for him to oversee a probe into a campaign for which he was a vocal and prominent supporter.
That eventually led to the appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller, which infuriated President Trump.
"He's conflicted himself out of his this," Chaffetz said. "He should resign or step down or the president should fire him. He's a worthless attorney general. ... Let's get rid of him. Have a real attorney general."

And have we seen anyone from the Obama administration charged yet?
Nope, and according to Chaffetz don't expect any, so long as Sessions is still the Attorney General. This is believed to be the core resion that Chaffetz resigned from chairman from the House Investigation Commitee, because Sessions was refusing to prosecute the referrals being sent over, starting with Hillary's IT guy.
If Sessions isn’t lining up his ducks prepatory to prosecuting egregious violations of the law...then yes he is useless
Chaffetz is a Mormon NeverTrumper. That should say everything about his opinions on the Trump Administration.
Where are the orange jumpsuits? So many crooks and crimes.
So far, Sessions has just been a place-holder. Why?
Congressman Chaffetz sits down to pee.
And when you compare Sessions to Eric Holder, who weaponized the DOJ under Obama, it’s even more exasperating.
Well at least the man Sessions praised in a visit to Las Vegas last July is still on the job. Sessions praised Steven Myhre for his “leadership” and “standing for the law” in the case against Cliven Bundy and others.
Myhre got slammed for “willfully” withholding discovery evidence in the case last month with charges tossed out by the judge “with prejudice” meaning they can’t come back.
But don’t worry, Myhre and his associate prosecutors have filed arguments to bring the charges back against the Bundys and others.
What a great guy Sessions has at work out there in Vegas......sarc.......
Can you imagine getting up in years having been a respected Senator and deciding to participate as an accessory to an attempted a coup against a duly elected POTUS.
He’ll die in disgrace same as McCain. What makes a man do that?
The IG report is due in March. We can wait that long to see who are the real swamp things.
The IG was handcuffed by Obama. He isn't supposed to be today.
If no Democrat is charged with anything, I will happily join the chorus.
“starting with Hillary’s IT guy” yes and include Lois Lerner in that also.
This is what happens when you pick a long time sitting Senator to do a job, he is unable to go after his “friends”.
Jeffery Sessions is useless and a has been Attorney for a long time.
Whatever happened to his big leak investigation?
He’s not wrong here.
That is exactly the kind of thinking that got us to this point.
If we let this mountainous level of corruption pass unaddressed this time, what can we expect with the next 'Rat administration? We've already seen murders, theft of billion$, theft of classified materials, sale of strategic assets to enemies, people thrown in prison to hide malfeasance, high officials complicit in the murders of hundreds of Mexicans. What next, Mr. Sessions? What next?
I have been trying very hard to keep my support of Sessions.
President Trump is not afraid to fire anyone he thinks isn’t doing the job.
So I hold out hope that those two have been keeping quiet and suddenly it will all break loose. I cannot imagine President Trump just letting this blow over. He is too much of a fighter.
I have been wrong many times in my life. I hope I am not wrong about this.
Shhh! Don’t let that pesky fact get in the way of drunken FReepers trashing Sessions.
Trump is a pragmatist on the Sessions question. He knows he may need senate support in a coming impeachment trial if the dems take the House. He also knows that one thing the senate is, it is a bunch of good ole boys slapping each other on the back. He fires sessions, he loses support from some GOPe types who with the dems would gladly push him out so the good times roll again.
To a certain extent Sessions is correct, and to an even larger degree, he’s wrong.
The correct part is that the charges would seem politically motivated and that the following administration bringing charges against the previous would be a never-ending circus.
Where he is wrong is that in this instance the previous administration engaged in a criminal conspiracy and even engaged in criminal acts in furtherance of criminal acts as an ongoing criminal enterprise. This cannot stand and needs to be prosecuted to the fullest extent provided by law. The people and the rule of law applied to all demands nothing less.
Hillary Clinton has a lifetime of criminality the demands prosecution and imprisonment. The most recent acts are the most egregious and the Uranium One deal is TREASON.
I keep reading that comment about Chaffetz but haven’t seen anything to back it up since he left Congress and became a Fox contributor. He behavior has been much more pro-Trump than Session’s has been at this point. He’s right. If Sessions won’t prosecute and actually made that comment about not prosecuting the previous administration for crimes, he needs to be fired and let somebody have the job that will.
It started with “Why can’t we just move on?” Bush. He wouldn’t go after Bill “my brother from a different mother” Clinton. It’s now the government versus the people.
And, I’m not saying Sessions should be fired. We don’t know what he is doing or not doing at this point, but, if he refuses to do his job, that’s different.
