Hard to say which is better looking, Weinstein or Michael Moore.

The girls Track Coach would have me ask out the sprinters right before their races.

Said it shaved at least a second off their times.

I used to think my dad (2” shorter than Mr Gavin, and one year older) looked a lot like a cross between Cary Grant and Gregory Peck. But after seeing the young pics of this guy and the older one you posted, it’s like seeing pics of Dad. Especially that older pic!

(Dad passed away last August at 87)

Missed for sure. He taught me how to farm, ride horses, operate equipment, drive, fly airplanes, weld and cut steel.

Good looks can be a curse. He confided to me after he and my mother divorced (I was 23 then), that “sometimes the women just come on like gangbusters”. I knew it was true, for I had to tell girls in my high school to quit following him around at the Friday night football games.

Parent teacher night 1988: my wife and I went to hear my oldest son’s second grade teacher fill us in on his progress. First we had to answer how my dad was, and then listen to a story: “I remember the first time I saw your dad. It was spring 1951. I said to myself, “There goes the handsomest man I ever saw’”.

I smiled and said, “yeah,.. uh,.. well, ..how is our son doing in your class?”

She quickly came back to earth and filled us in.
