Scientists unable to explain why ozone layer failing to heal

In 1987, countries of the world agreed to the Montreal Protocol, a treaty designed to phase out chlorofluorocarbons, or CFCs, responsible for destroying ozone in the stratosphere. The protocol has worked as intended in reducing these substances, and early healing of the ozone “hole” over Antarctica has been subsequently hailed by scientists.

But the study by Ball and his colleagues focused instead on the lower latitudes where the vast majority of humans live.

There, the scientists found a relatively small but hard-to-explain decline of ozone in the lower part of the stratosphere, the layer of the atmosphere that extends from about six miles to 31 miles above the planet’s surface, since the year 1998. Meanwhile, the upper stratosphere has been recovering.

“The precise cause of the trend is unknown but could be related to changes to the stratospheric circulation, which has a large influence on how ozone is distributed,” said Ryan Hossaini, an ozone expert at the University of Lancaster in Britain.

I am going to give you one of the greatest compliments I have ever received. You are not as dumb as you look.
Sunspots. The 11 year cycle. The longer cycle and variance. Cosmic rays and how they influence cloud formation.
Yep, a complement: "You are not as dumb as you look."
;-)

They’re unable to explain how/why it even supposedly has a problem.

so a couple of college educated kids get grants to go to the South Pole and raise a few weather ballons and collect some environMENTALly biased data, then come to a evironmentally hysterical biased conclusion....I am more worried about anyone who would believe this than the Ozone hole itself

“The precise cause of the trend is unknown but could be related to changes to the stratospheric circulation, which has a large influence on how ozone is distributed,”

The ozone hole boils down to two things, the lack of sunlight for six months at a time, and the stratospheric air currents preventing ozone rich air from reaching the south pole. So yeah, it might be related to changes in stratospheric circulation. Duh.

Perhaps the magnetic field at the poles allow charged particles from the sun to stream in and disrupt the formation of ozone molecules....

NAH.... Gotta be them bad horrible HEW-MANS!!! and their bad horrible hair sprays and chlorofluorocarbons...

Cow farts.

No, seriously. There or actually people wasting everyone’s time wondering about Cal farts. Check out this article on Forbes https://www.forbes.com/sites/samlemonick/2017/09/29/scientists-underestimated-how-bad-cow-farts-are/#12246cd478a9

Kay: "All right, Beatrice, there was no alien. The flash of light you saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus."
Jay: Wait a minute. You just flash that thing, it erases her memory, and you just make up a new one?
Kay: A standard issue neuralyzer.

I'd like to think the screen writer was trying to be amusing, but everything I hear from democrats, these days, trends toward them being unable to tell fact from fiction. They are retreating into some sick fantasy, and demanding that we come with them, at gun point.

They are thinking too hard, with too little. Their neurons are starting to smolder

this should be a lesson that government can NOT solve climate problems- ever- and in no way shape or form should they be allowed to extract money from us to try to do so!

The “ozone hole” was never a hole, to start with. The whole hysteria is a huge scam in preparation of the even bigger Goebels warming scam.
If there is any remaining doubt, look up who is the guy who propped up this scam, he was called “Ozone man” by Bush Sr.

It a all a crock to begin with. It was, in part, a move to ban a substance from the marked as it lost its patent protection in order to substitute a new product that would start the patent period anew.

Modern ‘scientists’ always go looking for what they already know to exist ... and surprisingly, they find it - no matter how much data they have to change or omit ...
