Hotels across the country are rushing to introduce robots with the promise of enhancing the guest experience and increasing efficiency. The automated companions can do everything from make and pick up deliveries to help guests find their way around.
Aloft Cupertino in the Silicon Valley (rates from $150) was the first hotel in the United States to debut Saviokes Relay robot in 2014. The three foot tall autonomous robot, nicknamed Botlr, weighs 90 pounds and makes deliveries throughout the hotel using multiple sensors, 3D cameras and Wi-Fi to operate the elevators. Marriott has since begun mobile robot service at four other Aloft properties.

“And they don’t expect a tip.”
Exactly!
But they don’t lay out breakfast nicely as real room service does :)

That’s why you tip ‘em anyway and watch as they lay helpless like an upturned turtle.
Working room service was the first time I ever saw a real naked lady.
It would be several more years before I actually laid a hand on one.
What kind of robot?
self driving cars and trucks, robots delivering food, drones flying packages to my door, pigs flying out of my but with mouths full of bitcoin...
[insert helpless servo noise here]
Oh, and the ability to edit my own misspelled words at FreeRepublic!! Oh my, think how far we’ve come since this last software update in...1998... Robot’s can drive my car after I’m done letting them clean my roof and wash my damn car.
Will the robot steal my stuff ?
Dude, your game was weak. Shame shame shame. ;-) Assume you manned up since then. There might be one teensy flaw to my reasoning OTOH. Was she attractive in any way?
That’s a special subroutine. Sssssshhhhh!
Don’t forget sweep your floors, mop your floors, vacuum your carpets clean your gutters clean your pool make you pizza mow your lawn and clean your grill. Now they have sex robots to boot. People say men are being replaced, but women better watch out. Robots never nag and don’t get 1/2 your stuff when they run off with the mailman. ;-) LOL
Just toss a napkin over its head and take the food. But of course the hotel figured that one out.
Touche. Well played.
I think I spent 40-50 nights in hotels last year.
That was most ever but I don’t think I’ve ever once ordered or contemplated room service.
I did use one of the restaurant delivery services once cause I was at a hotel with no nearby restaurants and no car.
I was thoroughly dissatisfied with the food and the service. Won’t likely do that again.
Nine times out of ten, when I travel, I’m alone so I kind of like getting to a restaurant and reading a book while I’m eating.
