#BabyGise was born in 1915. This birth certificate was filled out on Texas paperwork. it is the birth announcement of Lawrence Preston Gise.
He was born in Texas in 1915, but the paperwork is being filed in 1951?
And he is being claimed by someone in Arlington VA/
They had to file the paperwork in 1951 because for that last 36 years, Lawrence Preston Gise went only by the name of #BabyGise
The CIA raises people on a farm and when ready, they claim them and ship them out to Arlington.

My grandfather was born in Texas in 1914. His mother filed a birth certificate for him in 1942(?) in California when he was in his 20s. I only know that because I am having great difficulty in figuring out who his father was, and had thought that looking up his birth certificate might help (it didn’t).
It may have been fairly common back in the early 1900s and before to not issue a birth certificate right away. I’m thinking that some birth certificates in those days might only have been issued as an afterthought when a situation came up that required one.
Long story short: I wouldn’t make too much of the story that Jeff Bezos’ grandfather did not receive a birth certificate when he was born.

You know, that seems so outlandishly odd in the modern era, but as you say, it may have been prevalent back then.

A newspaper photograph taken in 1961, when he was 16, shows him standing on the pedals of his unicycle facing backward, one hand on the seat, the other splayed theatrically to the side, his expression tense with concentration. The caption says he was awarded “most versatile rider” in the local unicycle club.
In high school, Jorgensen started dating Jacklyn Gise, a girl two years his junior whose father also worked at Sandia Base. Their dads knew each other. Her father, Lawrence Preston Gise, known to friends as Preston and to his family as Pop, ran the local office of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission, the federal agency that managed the nuclear weapons program after Harry S Truman took it from the military following World War II.

My mom was born in a Arkansas barn in 1921 or so. Her mom went to help her parents out cuz their house had burned, and my grandmother went into early labor. Fortunately the barn was still standing. When Mom needed a passport in 1937, her grandmothers handwritten note was taken as proof and she got her birth certificate and passport.
Of course, many years later, when computers came in, the government mistakenly changed her birthday, and she had to “change” her birthday whenever she dealt with the computer god. Ever tried to get a govt employee to correct a typo?

I had an 18 year old friend in the ‘70s, his birth was never recorded in the US as he was born in South America.
Silliness. I knew Bezos back in High School. Totally regular guy except he was brilliant. Nerdy, but confident. Very nice guy.
People in my family had to bring in the family bible and letters of testimony to have BCs issued in the fifties and sixties. Born at home, no docs, no papers. Not uncommon in rural America.

You are correct. My father was born 1912 and there was no birth certificate issued. When he finally had to have one for a government job his parents were deceased. So an Aunt had to swear to date of birth etc;
Back then it was not unusual to not have a birth certificate.
This proves time travel. The hashtag for the name is well into the future, so they traveled in time forward, then backward, then current. They buried the lede! It’s all about time travel!!! /sarc

Both my parents and all fourteen of my aunts and uncles were born at home, no doctor.
They never got birth certificates until they needed them as adults.
They would take the family bible, where all births and deaths were recorded, and that was enough to get a BC.
It was a different world then.
Did Bezos attend grade school in Houston?
Rumor says he went in Tanglewood, and he gives them a lot of $$$.
