BOSTON (CBS) Remember all that talk of the NFL losing viewership?
Not only was CBS broadcast of Sundays AFC Championship Game between the Patriots and Jaguars the most-watched game of the season, it was the highest-rated program on television since New Englands epic comeback against the Atlanta Falcons in last years Super Bowl

High ratings for a single game cannot off-set a season-long drop-off in the overall viewership of NFL football.
Exactly why I posted it can’t wait to hear all the excuses from the nanny state virtue signalling anti NFL crowd here, thanks for not disappointing me.
How in the heck can you conflate disgust with a league and players who hate the USA with “nanny state?” Or was that just the only epithet you could come up with after your first beer of the day?
If you watch the nfl, you hate the USA.
Pretty straightforward and no nanny-state involved.
Bottom line: Did ad revenue decrease, flatline, or increase this year?
The Playoffs were the reason most of America didn’t care squat about the government shutdown. Those that weren’t watching football (the ladies) were watching Victoria on PBS.

Our winter home is a few hours from Jax. Normally, there would be guys bouncing off the walls in excitement last week. Silence.
I cut short a conversation yesterday by simply saying “I’m a veteran”. The group went silent. They get the idea.

So much for me being a member of the "virtue signaling anti NFL crowd", eh?
The FACT of the matter is that overall viewership of NFL games is down, and has been down all season; and the FACT of the matter is that statistically, a single game with high viewership does not offset the multiple data points which indicate a season-long reduction in viewers.
I stated facts. There was no "virtue signaling" in my original post, and there was no anti-NFL bias in my original post. There is no way any rational person could have read either of those things in to my comment.
However, I think it is reasonable at this time to infer from your post that you are a troll.
Wow. What a venom-filled post.
No wonder you seek out "virtue" signallers. You have none yourself.
...news from Boston (insert pinch of salt here)..
The Patriot’s record, and Brady’s injury, are a draw. I agree that viewership may be atypical. Hopefully.
This products executive team - overly fearful of upsetting the black activists on ESPN - werent as careful about managing Kaepernick and the Kneelers they should have been, but they are betting that incident will go the way of New Coke in a year or so and all will be restored.
I think the NFL has a much bigger problem with verisimilitude, because as CTE patients keep piling up in the service of a sport that isnt even real public opinion is going to turn harder against the league than it already has.
The trend is not the NFL’s friend. Ad revenue has not grown, make-goods are up, merch sales revenue is not great, fewer butts are in the seats, ticket prices are down. And if the upcoming season tickets sales revenues aren’t good....
The NFL can’t spin this anymore. Too much sucks.

THAT MEANS LOTS MORE PEOPLE SAW HOW CORRUPT REFS CAN CHANGE A GAME OUTCOME...
GIVE THE REF’S 100 YARDS FOR NE.....
tough to win when the refs on the other side...
THE NFL IS LOOKING TO GET THE FOCUS ON BRADY AND AWAY FROMT THE KNEELERS ....
just give NE the trophy and save the hangovers ....
I am a woman and I love football. Only watched college this fall/winter. BUT, I had read (outside the embarrassment of the Jags in London) the 4 teams left were the teams that didnt take a knee in the recent games. I did watch the Patriots/Jaguars game. Tom Brady is a wonder to behold! I was unhappy that the Pats seemed to be struggling, but In the back of my mind was the last Superbowl. I BELIEVED they could come back.....and they did. I will be so sad when Brady retires. He should get an award for The Best Playmaker Ever in the NFL. My BFF is from Philadelphia. I told her I wouldnt root against the Eagles as they have never won a Super Bowl......but I look forward to watching Brady one more time this year.

Hey BLM/NFL thugs this is great news for you because we caved right? I’m sure these halfwits believe this but it just shows they are still rolling down hill.
I’m having a party on the day of the Patriot Bowl but we aren’t watching.
