A school district in Wisconsin is mulling over whether to remove the classic Harper Lee novel To Kill a Mockingbird from its high school curriculum after a parental complaint.
Parent Tujama Kameeta wants the Monona Grove School District in Monona, Wisconsin town to remove the novel due to the 48 racial slurs directed at African Americans in the book.

You assume that he can read.
I’m glad you mentioned “N-word of the Narcissus” a.k.a. “Children of the Sea,” which is one of the first and best things Joseph Conrad ever wrote. That and “Typhoon” are my favorites.
But I lost your reference to Russell’s stories of the South Seas. This just doesn’t ring a bell.
Forgive my ignorance and please elucidate.
The female looks a bit the Downer.
Nope.
Not happening.
Bring it, buttwipes.
Who is the mud shark on the left?
“Many people live on the left side of the hill.”
And the majority of those go into politics, journalism, and in the case of those greater than three sigmas left of center: Social Justice.
Don’t let this ignoramus near Mark Twain’s “Huckleberry Finn”.
The actual racism was not portrayed as morally right in the slightest.
I think its just a not very good book

I respectfully disagree. TKAMB is a badly-written book. It makes cardboard villains of white hills people (redneck white trash) and a splendid hero of the white lawyer from the town’s upper class, and all black people are kind and amiable victims. The prose is awful. The reason it is a perennial best seller is because it is required reading in college and high school classes.
So that’s my rant for the day. I am only allowed one a day and I decided to blow it on To Kill A Mockingbird.
Need a copy of your rules on who to make heroes and who to make villains.
We really should ban Brave New World because it makes fun of druggies and sluts.
Anyway, this wouldnt stand a chance: https://youtu.be/aIlJ8ZCs4jY
Also the reference to nigger Jim in Huckleberry Finn. He was a hero, risking freedom and physical harm to help Huck. But they see the trigger word, stop reading and start hollering.
The book was “Little Black Sambo”, not Mambo.
We should be demanding that the democrat party of slavery, the KKK, Jim Crow, etc should be outlawed permanently and no currently registered democrat should ever be allowed to vote for their racist party again.
The constitution guarantees freedom of speech and expression and if you don’t like that guarantee then you and your family should be moved to the country of your choice in Africa so that you can be “real” Africans. In that tribal paradise you will discover the real face of racism.
{Hey, add this one to the others . . Song of the South, Amos and Andy, etc. Its absolutely madness that so few little minds can actually stop the huge, vast majority from enjoying these.}
I only recently obtained a copy of “Song of the South” and watched it. What a phenomenally good movie. I downloaded it from an Australian website. The setting for the story is before the Civil War.
I'm sure works of Mark Twain are on this persons list and How many Disney cartoons have been banned or edited? How many works will she want banned because she doesn't deem them Black enough or put Whitie in a negative enough light?
The only positive racism is racism against the so called White race...........according to racists of color.
It makes cardboard villains of white hills people (redneck white trash).....
Agreed. A point of view which many persons simply have not read. Harper Lee, the author, certainly had in mind the existing left wing views of that era. Her portrayal of one of unpleasant whites in the book, hinted at incest amongst his kind. No one - not even the haters of southern poor white people could have hit any harder.
This against her own culture.
