With what is starting to leak on Russiagate it was child's play to pull off backing Roberts into a corner with Obama's Gestapo Agencies. Most likely his Adopted Irish Kids by way of South America did him in. Obama's Fascist Agencies knew what was in Roberts morning stool let alone his bogus Adoption papers.
We’ve been told for years that NSA (or one of the alphabets) has access to every text and email in the country, top to bottom. Now we learn the spooks are dirty as hell.
Anybody doubt they have blackmail material on everybody, from the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court down to my local trash collector?
He knew how hot he would look in that robe with those other supremes.

This is the problem with a weaponized NSA/CIA/FBI and other deep state operators. Even if they were biased for the right; it would still be a corrupt system. That must stop.
If not we are no better than any dictatorship or banana republic. We are supposed to set the gold standard but then along came Bush Sr. and Bill clinton, not sure about Bush Jr., maybe, but then the worst of them all, obummer, came in and took it to a new low level, well; that we know about.
This is the one really good thing about the digital age. Nothing stays hidden forever. It always comes out at some point if there is any digital trail.
I bet they even fed Roberts the info to thread the needle on justifying his vote.
If that’s true, he’d be a bona fide idiot to agree to be tapped for SCOTUS considering the scrutiny. Of course, any skeleton(s) should’ve stopped him.
What kind of person would he be in the first place to skirt around the law to do an illegal adoption? Not ethical, for sure.
Bottom line, he’s a major disappointment.
If that is what happened to Roberts (and I think it did) that is a Constitutional crisis on steroids.

Yes and now NSA and others have turned into Gestapo/East German Stasi. It’s almost like the Nazis won the war.
That will go to whomever is found to have extorted the threats. We will hear offers of "haven't they suffered enough" (by being voted out of power), no intent to break the law, it was the only time, household arrest, or simply fleeing into exile in another country.
The media will pass it off as "everybody does it" opposition research.

This is gonna be friggin ugly.
I visited the old East Germany about a dozen years ago and spent quite a bit of time with an old man who was a Russian spy in the Stasi.
He was on a Panzer tank crew in Hitler’s army and was captured by the Russians and sent to Siberia as a POW until 1952 when they sent him back as a spy.
The stories he shared were fascinating. I learned about how they worked with propaganda and fear.
I also learned that Hitler sold the war to the German people as a Christian War!
If true then Roberts should immediately notify the POTUS that he is resigning due to his inability to perform his duties in an impartial manner and has been compromised. No excuse to bow to blackmail if your the Chief Justice of the USSC. Pathetic excuse of a judge if true.
