Dream job: Ireland vet clinic looking for a ‘cat cuddler’

A company is looking to hire someone to shower little kittens with love and snuggles. The Just Cats Veterinary Clinic & Cattery in Dublin, Ireland is looking for a cat cuddler. The job description reads: “The ideal candidate must have gentle hands capable of petting and stroking cats for long periods of time. They need to be softly spoke and capable of cat whispering to calm the nerves of some of our in patients. An ability to understand different types of purring is a distinct added advantage in helping you secure this position with us.”

This socialization is actually an important job to create good pets. My cat is a rescued stray that was lovingly taught to trust people by a ‘cat cuddler’ before I adopted her from the rescue shelter. She is the gentlest cat I’ve ever had due to those efforts.

If I lived in Ireland I could apply for the job. I learned how to tame feral kitties by holding them and giving them kitty massages I called kitty tajies. Cats tend to hold their tension in their muscles. When one gently, but firmly massage their muscles, starting with the muscles in their neck, it breaks up their tension and they soon melt into your arms. Since it worked with ferals it definitely should work for tame kittens and cats. I have thought of opening a kitty message parlor.
