HBO has become pretty good at adapting successful books into successful TV programs. The cable network has another promising project on the way with an adaptation of Fahrenheit 451. Based on the classic sci-fi novel by Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451 is an upcoming TV movie starring Michael B. Jordan and Michael Shannon. We've seen some images from the movie, and now HBO has graced us with the first footage.

First side effects of the “Just Google it!” generation.
Sorry, could you please explain what you mean by that?
I recall an interview of Ray Bradbury from years ago, soon after Michael Moore's similarly named leftist documentary came out. Bradbury was urging Moore to change the name and resented it being named similarly...and he also mentioned he was pursuing getting a Fahrenheit 451 movie made....maybe this is pay back in some part?
ONLY if the series includes the fact that 451 degrees is the temperature of burning paper, and that the control of reading matter is a function of the secret police.... AND especially if the final ending scene of people whose life task is to memorize a book- and walk around in the woods reciting them. That was the most chilling scene.
Keeping in mind that obamaumao’s library will have NO, zero— reading matter or books... but only digital “continually re-written” history on his destructive commie 8 years. In a building that looks like “ali-baba” land in such poor taste and insisting on being placed in Jackson Park in Chicago (to stick it to the white people, and the site of the World’s Fair).
Yes, I’ve read the book. More than once. It’s been a while though.
A classic IMO...one of my favorites.A TV show? No thanks...you simply cannot remake a classic.
Reminds me a bit of a great line from Hogan's Heroes, one of my favorite old shows.Somehow the subject of a replacement for Hitler came up and Hogan revealed that it was gonna be some Nazi general. On hearing this Kinch says "Aaaw,shucks...I thought I was gonna get that job".
As a teacher I noticed that children don't use their imaginations anymore and have, therefore, diminished capacity to create new thoughts.
My apologies, because I was responding to you, I did not include the quote assuming that I was just reinforcing what you already believed.
I made my rising 10th and 7th graders read this book last summer. We read it together and had some great discussions about it.
I hated the original movie.
I already thought that it was going to stink; now I'm certain, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that it has been ruined!
I'm not sure when it all started, but I did notice, awhile ago, that children just don't seem to HAVE an imagination any more. And HOW that was taken away from them, I don't know, but this started many decades ago.
It can't be blamed on watching T.V., because there was T.V. when I was a kid and kids back then had great imaginations and pretended to be all kinds of different characters, when playing with each other.
Good for you!
Let me guess. The book burners will be Breitbart readers and Trump supporters.
I actually liked Idris Elba in The Dark Tower.
Did not like Will Smith in The Omega Man reboot, I Am Legend, mostly because I don’t care over much for him, in general.
