President Trump reportedly referred to Haiti and countries in Africa as “shithole countries” and called for more immigrants from places like Norway at an Oval Office meeting with lawmakers, two people briefed on the meeting told the Washington Post on Thursday night.
The meeting was intended to hammer out an immigration deal that would extend protections and offer a path to citizenship to DACA recipients, but also include money for border security and reforms to some immigration programs.
According to the Post, one deal being considered would allow visas from the diversity lottery to go to immigrants who just lost Temporary Protected Status, which allowed them to stay and work in the US — including those from Haiti and El Salvador, whose protections are expiring next year.
That’s the broad context for Trump’s outburst. But this isn’t the first time Trump has reportedly made racist comments about immigrants from predominantly nonwhite countries.
A New York Times report in December recounted a meeting in the Oval Office at which Trump railed against the recipients of US visas in 2017. During it, he reportedly complained Haitians “all have AIDS” and Nigerians would never “go back to their huts.” The White House denied Trump made those remarks.

Nigeria, Haiti, Zimbabwe, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, El Salvador - sound like $hithole countries to me.
Why would we accept folks from there when most Europeans and Asians lead productive non-leaching lives here?
So, let’s see, the Washington Post, which does nothing but print anti-Trump propaganda, claims that two people “briefed” on a meeting claim that Trump made some comments. They don’t claim that those people were actually AT the meeting, so they have NO first hand sources for this story (even though, to back it up, they reference an earlier story where Trump “reportedly” made similar comments, which could be similarly fiction, for all we know).
Then the media runs with the WaPo story, omitting the fact that they have quote no sources and don’t even claim to have a source who actually heard the comments in question.
And THEN the media wonders why people hate and distrust them.

I wonder why those countries are so terrible. Since all people are exactly the same, it must be because they don’t have the Constitution.

Afrikaners ( Boers ) are a great fit ( for the most part ), for the USA, but that nation and this one make it almost impossible for them to emigrate to the USA.

Trump called Haiti a shithole. Clinton actually RAPED That entire country when they were knocked down from a natural disaster.

Western European nations are becoming “shithole” in other senses - no belief in the superiority of Western Civilization; socialist; let themselves be overrun by moslem hordes; unwilling to fight back against moslems; dhimmitude.
Frankly, we should encourage immigration from twelve “3 Seas Initiative” countries of central and Eastern European located between the Baltic, Black and Adriatic Seas (hence the name): Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.
These guys are putting up the good fight against destructive mohammadens and unbridled open borders. We need their type here.
Import enough migrants from sh*thole countries and you become one yourself.
‘Accept’ maybe. ‘Need?’ No. A nation of 330M+ doesn’t ‘NEED’ people.
The “s” word was commonly used in polite conversation four hundred years ago and is in the 1611 KJB.
So if civilization can withstand that, I think it can stand what Trump said, in company with millions of similar uses per day.
If America gets much worse some of us might start thinking about emigrating to Eastern Europe.
But after we’ve screwed ourselves up like this I’m not so sure they’d want us.
Kind of like the way Texans don’t want any more Californians.
I’d vote for encouraging more Eastern Europeans, particularly from places like Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic, to emigrate. Many of them seem to have learned the hard way how truly evil authoritarian socialism/Marxism is, and want nothing to do with it ever again. They also seem to have nailed the threat posed by islamic “refugees.”
Sorry, too late. The younger generations in Eastern Europe are completely brainwashed by EU envy. Give it another decade or two and that post Cold War cohort will be in power over there. And they would vote Democrat here, no doubt.
