LAS VEGAS-Fresh from his federal court triumph, Nevada cattleman Cliven Bundy wasted no time in renewing his range fight, asking why the local sheriff hadn't protected his family and property when government agents tried to round up his cattle in 2014.
The ranching patriarch urged Sheriff Joseph Lombardo of Clark County, Nevada not take direction from the federal government, describing it as a "foreign" power.
"Sheriff Lombardo are you going to represent "We the People" or are you going to represent the federal bureaucracy?" the 71-year-old Bundy said Wednesday, standing outside the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department headquarters. The sheriff earlier declined a personal meeting with Bundy.
Speaking into a microphone attached to a bullhorn and ringed by about 20 supporters, Bundy said, "I want to ask him to be a Constitutional sheriff with more power than the President of the United States here in Clark County with the only policing power. If he don't, I guess we will replace him one way or the other......
Bundy held forth at his news conference as if he were leading an educational seminar on his interpretation of the US Constitutional and state's rights. He quizzed listeners on when Nevada became a territory and the role of Nevada's state cattle brand inspector. It's no accident that sons and co-defendants Ammon Bundy and Ryan Bundy led similar talks during their armed takeover of the Malheur National Wildlife refuge in Oregon in 2016.
Cliven Bundy pledged to continue raising cattle, challenging federal authority over the land where his herd grazes and battling federal protections for the rugged mountains and sandstone surrounding his 160-acre ranch.......
Since his release Monday, he said he's gotten to hug dozens of his 64 grandchildren......
The judge further identified 493 pages of internal affairs documents on BLM agent Love that said there were no documented injuries to endangered desert tortoises by cattle grazing on the federal land. That's the reason the federal land agency sought to curtail the senior Bundy's grazing permit in 1993 and limit the number of cattle on public land.

Mr. Bundy can be both right about his bad treatment by the feds and wrong about other things. I am happy he is free but he is a wing nut about some things, too. The feds aren’t a foreign power...though in this case they sure acted like it.

Doing “whatever it takes” is what got him in trouble the last time. I suggest he listen to his lawyers on what’s legal and what isn’t and not go on his own interpretations.

Lastly, I guess no one should cry too hard when *they* finally crack down on any one of the ‘3 felonies/day’ you may get prosecuted, no?

There was such a large group of Patriots arrested that they split them into separate groups for trials. The feds arrested all of the Bundy men except their youngest son Arden who was not 18 at the time of the protest. Mel and Dave Bundy along with 2 others are still scheduled for a separate trial on February 26th.

The feds also belatedly turned over multiple threat assessments which revealed that the Bundys were not violent or dangerous, including an FBI analysis that concluded that BLM was “trying to provoke a conflict” with the Bundys. I would compare what’s coming down in the West to what came down in the South in the sense that the population is being kept in poverty and being prevented from making a living by government regulation-control like Jim Crow racism.
Negative on that, the trial of Cliven Bundy, Ammon Bundy, Ryan Bundy and Ryan Payne dismissed with prejudice.
The hiding of evidence forced Judge Navarro’s hand for those four but now that all the evidence is out it allows Mel Bundy, Dave Bundy, Joe O’Shaugnessy and Jason Woods to be tried because no evidence is hidden for them.
That’s where it stands now.

There is so much additional ammo Trump could use against the Deep State if he embraced the Bundy case. Waco and Randy Weaver as well. Slamming the FBI with their recent screwups.
I mean these guys break every rule in the book with impunity. From your average rancher in Nevada with less than 200 head of cattle to the Republican nominee for President of The United States. These jack-wagons need to be taken down a notch or two.
