The article says that reverse discrimination is unlikely,but the reaily is, if you’re white, male, and especially middle-aged, you are absolutely discriminated against. They won’t even talk to you.
There is the “pre-screening” which is under the guise of EEOC.
Are you:

2) Male
3) Disabled
4) Veteran
5) Disabled Veteran
These are the equivalent to “Irish need not apply”.
I can guarantee you that I was this past year (not hired because I’m a ‘white’ male)...hiring committee broke all the ‘rules’...details too numerous to mention...thought about legal action but chose not to do so.
Maybe the writer should talk with the 15k HP employees fired back in 2004 and forced to train in their replacements from India.

If you guys think it’s bad here, you should see what’s going on in South Africa. In the US, at least, companies are still forced to hire some number of whites, simply because there aren’t enough nominally-qualified minorities. Whites (especially if Asians are counted) are the still the vast majority of people in the skilled and semi-skilled workforce.
In South Africa now, they actually have similar laws to the US, forcing companies to put less qualified blacks over whites when hiring. But when whites are only 10% of the population to begin with, guess what, they simply don’t get hired. So there is now an army of white, jobless people who, in a society that didn’t discriminate, would have tons of jobs to choose from...while many blacks (and similar) are simply clueless in high-responsibility positions - which pretty much explains why the country keeps dropping economically, compared to the rest of the world.

I have been turned down for four different special technical jobs by the Government because I was a white male.
All four times the agencies that really wanted to hire me were told by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) that the positions had to be filled by a minority, woman, or both. There were no other people who applied that had the qualifications so OPM told them they would get extra money to give the new hire up to a year to train for the job. The problem was the jobs required years of experience and there was no way one year of training would ever suffice.
None of those four jobs were ever filled.
It's like the nation has lupus. This shit has to get reined in somehow. And the fact that pushing it is a deliberate core strategy of the democratic party is proof positive that--in the immortal words of Andrew Breitbart--"They are f*****g evil."
Even 9 years ago when I was last unemployed, there were numerous jobs open which I was qualified for, but part of the description was “diversity hire preferred” which is HR-ese for Whitey Need Not Apply.
