I can guarantee you that I was this past year (not hired because I’m a ‘white’ male)...hiring committee broke all the ‘rules’...details too numerous to mention...thought about legal action but chose not to do so.

I had a similar experience about 27 years ago. Went to the interview, interviewed very well but was told that because of EEOC they had to give preference to a woman and minority who also was considered.

Went home figured that that was that.

Month later was called and told the job had opened up again. So, I got the job I said.

NO, I had to interview again.

Told them I wasn't going to be their token white guy so there was a place they could stick their job.

Move on.
